Started with the trim molding removal. Found a great tutorial on another site, won't mention the name. Used fishing line and a 3M adhesive remover. Then deleted the resonator.

Then came along the HID kit. The first kit I installed was from JetttStream that I cant remember that offered the kit to install quad beam head lamps. The bulbs failed shortly after and couldn't get new ones from him. Found this place through a buddy of mine and they have not failed me in 4 years now. http://www.ddmtuning.com/

The custom intake was next. Had some piping sitting on a jobsite so I grabed some and made this guy up. Running a K&N filter and did the intake box mod as well.

I will post some more of the mods that I have done here in the near future.

******Before anyone says anything about the front and rear gears not matching, thats right some idiot (ME) ordered the rear diff from the junkyard with the wrong ratio in it. Instead of the 3.42's that where factory I for some reason though it had 3.73's. So now I have not 4x4. That is why I am doing the SAS finally. ******

Well here are a couple of updated photos. Working on the wiring for now. The harness came from a 03 Silverado and the ECM from a 04 Silverado. Fun thing about the 03 harness it uses a different PNP switch. )3 used two plugs and the 04 and up uses a single large plug. So little more wiring that needed to be done that didnt plan on.

Motor is ready for install just need more money to rebuild the transmission. So fell free to send some my way :excited: ;)

Well time for an update. The transmission done. Updated hard parts, Sonnex pinless 1-2, 3-4 acumulator pistons, vette servo, hardened seats on the separator plate. New 2800 stall converter and of course new bellhousing.

Search is on for an alternator, power steering pump, mass air flow sensor and starter. Also need some 3.73 gears for the front 7.2 diff.

So the wiring is done, until it's ready to fire. Got the transmission and transfer case in. The back of the new 5.3 sits 2.5 inches more forward than the back of the 4.2, so had to fab the transmission crossmemeber. The 4.2 and the 5.3 Envoys and Trailblazers use the same crossmemeber but have different mounting locations.

Picked up a 2006 5.3 4x4 Trailblazer driveshaft. 4.2 driveshaft measures 36" from center of ujoint to center of ujoint. 5.3 measures 38.5 center to center. Ujoints are the same so no biggie.

That's about it for now. Next is fuel lines and some more fabing. Moving the batter to the rear and going to run two batteries.

Lake McConaughy Nebraska

This is from last summers yearly trip to lake Mac. We always stay at Sandy Beach north east side. Like this little place. Drive up and down the beach, nice little hills to crawl around on. One of the favorite places to camp.

Some people shouldn't be driving on the beach. Had to pull them out after they buried the minivan.
