I replaced front pads and rotors today. I also installed suspension Max front sway bar links. Has to cut off the passenger side link because the allen hole stripped. Going to tackle the rear tomorrow. Also going to replace the air bags with coils tomorrow.

Drove 150 miles. 75 each way. 35 miles interstate and 40 miles of state roads. 18.4 mpg there and 17.5 on way home including a trip through drive through and another stop w it idling. Pretty damn good I think. Feels nice to ditch treadwright weight but not sure I could live w AT tires.

Why?

On an aside, I've read/watched/heard that Guard Dogs are an aggressive AT than MT, so that makes me more curious in your answer. Granted the tread depth/pattern are considerably different between the two, so I imagine a lot stem from this alone.

The GD are the original Goodyear MTR pattern. Not an AT. I read that too but its the same mud pattern as the MTR tire swing we made 15 years ago. No swamper for sure but an mt.

Why...
I was thrilled to ditch the 20+ lbs per tire because you can feel a difference at take off. Its nice not to pick up an mount them. Its amazing not to hear the annoying drone of them. I obviously do not like my guard dogs. They are a huge part of why my rig has been neglected for a year. They may go back on but this little test affirmed my belief that they are shitty tires.

Why...
I am not sure on an AT because my mission quite possibly demands more than they offer. I like the looks of an MT. I feel more confident in my rig on mud tires.

Truly unsure what part of my post you are asking why to but hopefully one of those thoughts covers it.

Oh and since its after midnight... today I just bought a set of 36 13.5 16 IROCs to play with.

I hope I didn't come off as condescending with my question; I was genuinely curious as to why you preferred the ATs over the GDs. I'm still debating over AT or MT, so any insight is welcomed.

I used to have a set. Regret selling it.

The BFG MT KM are a pretty good tire. They impressed me. They suck in the rain, zero siping. But offroad, they're more than adequate.

Doesn't every MT pretty much suck in the rain? Supposedly the Nitto Trail Grapplers were some of the best for rain conditions, when it comes to an MT, but if that's the best out there....yikes. Not for Florida monsoon season at any speed above 30, IMHO.

I'm not a very big fan of BFG MT, like Dave said they're horrible in the rain. I almost spun out a couple of times doing the speed limit on exit ramps. Wheeling wise they're ok, they did alright on rocks at rausch.

The TrXus is supposedly a good mud, rain and snow tire, a good bit of siping and people are reporting 30k miles out em, not too shabby at all. I've been leaning that way for a bit now.

Last fall I had to replace my heater blower motor resistor. Well, it went bad again. Figuring it was no big deal, I threw another one in. (I inspected the wiring) 24 hrs later, that one blew too. After doing some reading it seemed the blower motor can cause them to go out by drawing too many amps. So, I pull it apart with intentions of replacing the motor and another resistor. Once pulled apart, I find the harness is now melted as well! :wallbash:

The wires are surprisingly thick going threw that resistor. With my good solder iron at work, I went ahead and wire nutted it together until tomorrow!
