Well, on Saturday, I used a buddy's lift and did the front and rear diffs, and T-case fluid. Also did the trans filter/fluid, then a semi-flush (over-fill, then idle and pump it out the cooler line), took it off the lift, and reverse worked well, but forward was stuck in 3rd gear. WTF? Got a code for 2-3 solenoid low voltage. Dropped the pan again (saved the new fluid), and plugged the solenoid connector back in, put it back up, filled it back up, and it worked fine. On the V8, the Y-pipe is below the back of the oil pan, so you have to pull down on the exhaust and pull the pan forward to clear it. I guess when I did it this time, I pulled a connector out. It's back, and it's all good...
Today, I changed the thermostat, put on the Jetttstream silicone radiator hoses, put on a new AC Delco radiator cap, and changed the plugs and wires. The plugs/wires are exactly as big of a PITA as I thought they were going to be, since I bought the thing. Still worth having the 5.3, but plugs are a PITA. Made sure I did the Irridium AC Delcos and Delco wires, so I won't have to do it for another 100k miles!
