That's why I try to find most of my parts on Amazon. 51 for ball joints, as compared to 80, locally. Just an example.
I DON'T care what my GMT360 was designed to do, I care about what it can do!

Amazon is still overpaying....
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

On some things, I'll definitely agree. But a lot of times, they've been the best deal I've found.

Wait... The grape rear end lube is HOW MUCH?! $35/qt ?!

I used it last time, and I got it (same dealer) for like $15/qt...

I guess I'm going to do like everybody else and use... something else synthetic...

As an aside, my GM dealer has Dexron 6 on the shelf at $7.50, but will sell it bulk, if you bring in jugs, for $5/qt! I just picked up 10qts like that...

As in Royal Purple? Autozone had it for like $20 a bottle just a couple of days ago
This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.

Honestly I don't know how it where or when it happened. Heard a grinding noise. Stopped driving, refilled diff, saw a leak. I put it up on the lift and found a hole in it, and a magnet in the case discovered lots of small shards of metal...I plugged the hole temporarily with jb weld and refilled it until the new one comes in from the junkyard on Saturday. I really can't wait to play with my diff....not.

surprisingly, it really isn't all that difficult. I was able to disassemble, replace, and reassemble in under 3 hours. Feel free to PM me for my cell, I will be glad to help over the phone if it is needed.

Swapped in the new wheel bearings Saturday when it was nice, went fairly smoothly until I realized my deep well 18mm socket has gone missing so removing the bolts took longer than planned. Then I also installed the dust shield backwards on one side, realized it when the rotor was rubbing against it. D'oh....

Oh well, 2 hours for 2 bearings wasn't bad plus no more growling. ...... For now.

Well, on Saturday, I used a buddy's lift and did the front and rear diffs, and T-case fluid. Also did the trans filter/fluid, then a semi-flush (over-fill, then idle and pump it out the cooler line), took it off the lift, and reverse worked well, but forward was stuck in 3rd gear. WTF? Got a code for 2-3 solenoid low voltage. Dropped the pan again (saved the new fluid), and plugged the solenoid connector back in, put it back up, filled it back up, and it worked fine. On the V8, the Y-pipe is below the back of the oil pan, so you have to pull down on the exhaust and pull the pan forward to clear it. I guess when I did it this time, I pulled a connector out. It's back, and it's all good...

Today, I changed the thermostat, put on the Jetttstream silicone radiator hoses, put on a new AC Delco radiator cap, and changed the plugs and wires. The plugs/wires are exactly as big of a PITA as I thought they were going to be, since I bought the thing. Still worth having the 5.3, but plugs are a PITA. Made sure I did the Irridium AC Delcos and Delco wires, so I won't have to do it for another 100k miles!

Bearing out in disconnect, shelling out the outer case. Wouldn't allow the sleeve to connect the gears due to cv pulling it down at a angle.

Welded it for now still got 2 outta 3 bearings(prob not for long).

So I think I will buy a new cv and the atp awd disconnect.
