What about letting the TB just believe it's a 2WD. Then getting a 4WD 4L60e later along with a 205(will a 205 fit a 4L60e?) xfer case and manual hubs? The 226 does have it's limits as far as strength.

Ok, well if you're beginning an SAS immediately, then I guess it's ok.
Unimog - aren't those portal axles? You'll have a lot of lift, that's for sure. You'll certainly want to carve out the oil pan if you use portals so you don't end up sitting too high.
