I thought that way when I got my Silent Armor ATs. But they failed me on so many trails that (for me at least) it wasn't worth the compromise. Some MTs suck at wet pavement, but you can drive to accommodate that better than you can make up for AT performance offroad. Not being able to justify two sets of tires/rims, I had to tilt toward full time MTs. But your access to my kind of trails is limited anyway.
