Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

What did you do to your GMT today?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Tyler, unfortunately that's how it goes when you pay a shop. It's why you see us steer guys towarda buying and renting tools to do it themselves. For me a day wrenching is generally enjoyable, so although my free time is extremely limited these days it's not worth that kind of money (to have a shop do it, the price isn't that crazy for my area).

The endlinks on the swaybar are notoriously noisy when they are worn and the A arm bushings give off a good clunk too if the bushings are really bad. I'd check out the endlinks first, then the bushings, if it needs bushings it'll need another alignment.

They said they looked at it and it was the back plate of the brakes and that they would fix it because they put them on but it is just louder. And ya I know it is insane pricing but I do not know how to do any of it and its a lifetime warranty.

Ya they were supposed to fix it, but now it's louder so I'm gonna call and complain tomorrow morning and tell them I'll bring it when I get off and I need it fixed that night

LOLL

I think to replace the earth by sand for my son. It's easier than tomatoes or corn.

should be a pretty fun lil project, looking forward to the finished pics... or maybe a lil write up on the process of welding it all up! I'm sure it would help out a few guys.

Looks good. I need to cut my stinger and pull it back in, and utilize the extra tubing Mike gave me to reinforce. Just running out of time to get stuff done before TECORE.

I think we used a roll and a half of wire to get mine together, lots of seams.

My son washed the truck for me yesterday afternoon, so I spent a few hours this afternoon cleaning the glass inside and out, hit all the textured plastic trim on the bumpers and rocker panels with Black Magic cleaner/conditioner, and gave the tires a shot of shinola too. Then I drove out of the parkade into a shower, of course. A guy just can't win around here. Oh well, it looked spiffy for a few minutes.

Well, yesterday took my trailblazer back to tirediscounters and told them that after spending $1400 on labor, the noise shouldn't of gotten louder. Come to find out, it was a miscommunication between the manager and a technician there, the manager told him to fix the noise and he thought he told him I was aware of the noise. Some people I just do not know about...

That logic doesn't even make sense on their part. Sucks you're having to deal with that, but I think we've all been there in one form or another.

Yes they did fix it, they said that what it was, was a rust lip forming on the brake and it was rubbing when the wheel spun, idk how true that is but that's what they said.

Sounds realistic, the heat shield is pretty close to the brake disk and people have reported similar things.
