Got the restore at home depot for $40 2 gal kit with one roller you may want to get and extra roller for a second coat. Take molding off w/ fishing string, clean the shit out of truck with purple power and non scratching dish scrubber, 3M sanding block/sponge, frog tape.

De badge, clean , tape , sand , roll , didn't wait for it to dry too much cause the tape will never come off if you do. Will retape and 2nd coat tomorrow. Get a early start on a dry warm day and work hard and you can do it in a day. 3+ hrs between coats is why you need a early start to finish in a day. I have around $70 in it with the paint, tape, cleaning supplies.

Mario has is on his truck and it seems like I would be more worried about it scratching a tree than a tree scratching it! It is designed for decks and concrete restoration.

Hah, my problem is removing the entire axle from the disconnect. Couldn't get the little spring clamp to do its thing and let go, so I cheated and cut the OG boot clamp. I'm just nervous I'm going to get it disassembled again and not be able to fully remove it. I read some threads of Roadie's on Trailvoy about removing it and the seal, so I feel a little more confident.

it's not bad, you just got to get a tube up on the tripot (I use a floor Jack handle) and a 2.5 lbs mini sledge and wack the piss out of it. The disconnect side is the worst since it doesn't really get any lube. Grease up the splines (i like anti seize) when you reinstall and it'll come out easier when you have to pull it back out.
the other items you mention are pretty common issues on these aging vehicles.

you might try using a MAPP torch to heat up the fill plug and get it to spin out. An O/A touch would be better if you got one available. The blue wrench is your friend

I don't know what I was fretting about. About three taps with a crowbar underneath the truck did the trick.

Have to give a shout out to Roadie too for the guide on getting that seal out. I found a big effin hook to get it out. And I mean big.

That the one that runs next to the upper strut mount ? Mine have some corrosion starting there and buddies TB let go last winter on him. Was thinking about replacing them before mines does that.

Nah mine was the rubber hose to the aux cooler, the line going to the transmission had dry rot and popped on the ride to the old lady's house

I replaced that CB that you all hated on TECORE 7 with a Galaxy Mirage 88 (cleaner crisp non-over bearing audio, yet its still loud). I also ran new lines to withstand the draw from the power demand of this radio. Next will be a new antenna after Dave does the new hoop for me on the bumper.
