I rolled into my drive way at 2am. That last 45 minutes of my drive SUCKED!
That said, it was a great time and well worth the long trip. I am very happy that I didn't have to wake up to a snow drift in my tent this year. I hate that I had to ride as passenger, but it is just more motivation to get the truck back on the road and make the spring run next year.
It was great to meet some new folks and reconnect with some that I have met before. I also gained some rather insightful information, like the fact that the rear end and transmission that were recently installed (and then failed) in my truck were previously severely beaten on by a member of this site and were ready to fail! I was wondering what I did wrong, this explains a lot!
James, as always thanks for leading. I am sure I can speak for everyone when I say that it wouldn't be the same without you there. Barton, thanks for the open seat, I was glad to be able to fill it. (Even if you made me spoon at night to earn it) Mike and JorDanee, you have to be one of the coolest couples I have met in this hobby. I was serious about wanting to make that western trip with you all next year when my wife is able to go! Dirty Anton, that truck is a beast! I am not used to feeling small standing next to anything, that was just unnatural. Next year the daughters are coming along as well! Rory, your hilarious and great to be around, always a fun time! Dave and Jason, it was good to meet you guys, I hope your rookie passengers had a great time.
To everyone that wasn't there, tough sh*t. It sucks that you couldn't make it, you missed a great time. All I can tell you is to stop making excuses why you can't go and find a way to make it happen! I guarantee you wont be disappointed!
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
