Good group this year. I'm glad Moots finally got his butt in gear and is going to make it.

Any idea what the weather should be like up there during TECORE?

Accuweather is calling for 70s days 40s nights and maybe a shower Friday morning but this is forecasting two weeks in advance so it's anyone's guess.

Thanks. I know it's only been a year and a half since we moved from VA Bch to here, but I honestly cannot remember what "normal" weather is supposed to be up there this time of year, especially since normal the weather has not been.

NY on the other hand, can never forget those four seasons. Lol

I like to pack for the worst and hope for the best. Even more since I didn't have my sleeping bag at TECORE V, damn that was a cold night and I couldn't move without risking letting the heat out of my blankets.

Hm, for this Florida softened girl, some warm PJs are in order I think....and socks, heavy socks. And maybe some mittens, and scarf, and down jacket, and fleece hat, and I'm just kidding, except for the pj part that is. ;)

socks and a hat make a big difference when camping in the cold.
That and some kind of mat.
An air mattress in cold weather is useless, an old futon mattress works pretty well.
We went camping at a state park fall of 2011 and it was down in the upper 30's that night.
With my hat, sweat pants/shirt and sleeping bag on the futon mattress, I was doing pretty well most of the night.
My wife and the kids got on the air mattress because it was bigger and tried to snuggle, she was miserable.
She said she isn't going camping anymore unless it is in the 50's at night.

Depending on your heights, you might be able to put a pad in the back of the TB and sleep there. That might work for a cozy couple.

It got right around or a little below freezing on Friday night on the last TECORE. With the wind chill, it was definatly below freezing.

We have two marmot zero down bags and mats, I don't think we'll get to cold.
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.

If it's in the mid 40's looking at those bags is gonna make you sweat!

Another question. What's the food setup? Everyone on their own or do we all chip in and make a group chow line?

And does anyone know why the bearmanpig molested James' TB last time? Hope to avoid that situation.....

And as far as food goes we usually bring our own, sometimes sharing what we bring. Any interest in a Sat. night pot-luck though? we could all bring something different and do the community meal thing. give us another list to make! we love list!

Sounds like a good idea to me!

I was going to bring along a few manly treats (chocolate covered bacon for one) to share, but potlucks are always a blast. Can someone from NY/NJ bring some Hoffman hotdogs?!?!? Don't worry bout sharing with anyone but me. :D

v7guy wrote:Mike/JorDanee, it'll be great to meet you guys and see the truck in person! Rory is a good fella, you'll like him. That should take the edge off a 13 hour ride.

I wish Cody was coming with Moots and I, we're gonna have to leave at 2 am. It'll be alright though. It's getting close and I can't wait. I need a few days away from this city.

James was crazy riding up through there at night... and lets not forget his rush to "catch the train" when we were leaving lol.

Getting excited, can't wait!

I just changed jobs so asking for personal or sick time would have been inappropriate by my own standards. Only down fall of this job is I never know if I have a full weekend off till Friday afternoon, and I only get to request vacation in the fall. Perhaps this fall I'll be able to swing it and can take a personal day and sick day if I need to. Lately I've been having to work Sundays, and even this Easter I have to head up to Maine. Oh well, I'll get together with everyone soon.
