Fishsticks, are you the only one that has had to limit the steering? Is this because you have broken most of the parts?
It seems to me that it is when we take mechanicals to their limits is when we recognize the problems.
As far as my TB goes, it has not been in an accident and there has never been a driveability problem while stock. It does have 215 KM on it but ball joints, tie rods and A arm bushings all seam tight. It has had very light duty.
I pulled the half shafts to re-grease the tripods and replaced the boots. The tripods and outer CV's were not loose. So there is nothing obvious that there is a problem.
I know this is different than most of you have experienced, so I will continue to explore why. This weekend I plan to pull it apart and hopefully find out what is going on.
I small but significant observation: I started with tire pressures at 35 psi. This was from the tire install. I felt everything; road and steering response. I am now running 24 psi on the front and 22 psi on the back. Ride comfort and steering response are great. Darting still happens but tolerable. Cornering is firm with the 3 ply side walls; no excessive roll. The reason I bring this up, I have always loved driving the TB because of the comfortably ride. I now have it back almost!
