My name is Johnathon and i drive a 2006 GMC Envoy 4x4 with the 4.2L inline 6. I have 245/70 R17 kelly safari TSR mud tires and 2.5 inch of lift in the front and nothing in the back and it is level. I only work during the summer when im not going to school. But when i do work i spend every bit of my money on my truck. Now that im on here i have found more things that i can do to my truck and make it look nicer. So far i love this site!

Hi nice to see some more people from the mid-south I'm only about a hour from you. So what's your plans for your truck, I hope it's not all just for looks. Functionality is key here on ORTB!!!! There is a lot of info on here and on http://www.gmtnation.com, just read read and read some more and use the search function, most the questions you'll have have been answered.

Also a tuner and 6 more offroad lights, bug shield, and the window cover things on the side cant think of the name for it, and light covers for the front and back and im not sure

First is getting the ole babe off the ground, then new shoes, and I want to build a custom roof rack. I'll get there eventually, being a student makes it a little difficult.

Being a student does affect what u do to it a lot! I'm still one for this year. But that sounds pretty good to me!

Skip the CAI and the spacer and just get the PCM tune. The K&N will suck in more dirt and the spacer is snake oil. The PCM tune is more bang for the buck.

I don't really think those are what DRW had in mind when he said functionality.

Your lack of mentioning functional mods scares me.

K&Ns are not functional, nor are throttle body spacers.

Let me point you in the right direction... tires, shocks, armor... go!

If you're getting a bumper forget the pansy brush guard, it's essentially useless and most of them rob you of the hooks in the front if you have them. Mild bumps send them into your headlights and break them.
Also the advice from James is pretty rock solid. If you want functionality go for lift, tires and armor. A CB is pretty useful too. Not for nothing, but the simple fact your posting here clues us in you're new :raspberry:

Welcome aboard, hope you make it to some offroading with us.

I got the brush guard before I noticed the bumpers on here and I agree on how weak brush guards are they suck and are pretty good against weeds and that's it but I am goin to spend about 1600 dollars on trail armor and a lift and everything this summer to make it more offroad capable.

I think I speak for everybody that I hope you post up the progression to full armor. If you can take the time to document the brush gaurd attatchment points we would all appreciate it. I don't think we have pictures of the sliver of metal bracket that supports the brush guard.

You'll be able to quickly sell the brush guard to the mall cruiser guys on gmtnation or "the other board". Documentation is important over here and is greatly appreciated. Really look forward to your build!
