They fit. With 1.5" spacers and 18mm offset wheels and just a little cutting on plastic. No metal rubbing so far.

I know I can get it from your build thread, but can you also post lift specs here, for posterity?

Thanks,

More added. High Voltage 3" body lift. I'll try to get some better side pics later. But you get the idea.

Does it look like you would have had to cut the plastic if you had waited to put the tires on after the body lift?

Looks good. How did you search for the wheels? Did you just search by offset and bolt pattern? Also, where did you order the high voltage body lift? A bunch of the suspension components on our TB need replacement, so we decided since its gonna be tore down why not lift it and get wheels and tires!! Makes sense right!! Any advice would be great.

Dave- the body lift high voltage is selling is in the vendor area of the board. You'll see a section that says "High Voltage stuff".

Yes I still needed to trim even with the body lift. I should trim a little more off but I'm going to wait for my bumper from Bartonmd so I can get the lines right.

As for the wheels, I drew up a scale mock up of how everything sits in relation to one another in mm increments. Such as the face of the wheel, upper ball joint, inner and outer tire edges, and fender lip. Then I added in a spacer and started checking how much offset needed to be had to keep everything in clearance. I found with a 8.5" wheel I'd need about +12 offset and a 8" wheel about +18mm offset. I spent more time just thinking about it than actual practicing it.

Ok my neighbor just put a used set of these up for sale for $150 and they look about 50% tread.

Can these mount to the stock rim? I wasn't planning on changing rims or going this large but the price is tugging at me pretty hard!

they are outside the MFG recommended range but there are a few members running that size without noting any issues.

The 285/70 is a little big for the stock 7" wide rim. I have mine on 8.5" with a +18 mm offset. I do get some rub on hard turns when articulating. This weekend I had to slam on my brakes in a corner to keep from hitting a cop in pursuit, my left tire did rub some. I'll be cutting more when my MDB front bumper arrives in a couple months.

For the trimming done to fit these tires without the body lift, What tool did most of you guys use? Like a Dremel or what

Cutoff wheel, sawzall, big ol'e scissors. Really it's not that bad just about anything will work, but some come out looking better then other methods. I preffer a cut off wheel because it just finishes nicer then sawzall or anything else IMO.

There is no body trimming? Just the plastic of the wheel well?

Rory are you being serious? ;) If so I guess that means there is no real body trimming, just the plastic

I didn't need to trim anything but plastic, Kyle trimmed some sheet metal I do believe. And yes I used a steak knife. 285/75/16~33.4" per TreadWright website and it rubs on the frame at full turn.

Razor works, but takes more effort. Hack saw works, Steak knife or even a Dry-wall saw. Coping saw. Anything small and serrated really.
