Mike Thanks that is some awesome work. Now how about a spare tire carrier that fits into my stock 2" hitch receiver but still allows me to use the hitch for what it is there for n can be taken off if I get a wildhair n don't want it in the way for some crazy idea? :)

Yeah, I do those, and since they're pretty general, several real companies make them, as well.

For any of them, though, they put a larger moment on your hitch, so it's somewhat derated from stock. I wouldn't pull a car trailer with one, IMO.

Though that to be the case thats why I want to be able to take it off. I have a 21' boat that I only pull every once n awhile. The reason I want to be able to use the hitch is I use a cargo basket to take the garbage to the dump cause I don't want that nice smell inside the truck. I dont think that basket will be to much do you?

Oh BTW I forgot to say my name is:

Jared,

I'd think that should be fine, as long as you don't have a full size motorcycle on the carrier or something... How heavy you have the carrier is up to you, but if you move the weight out 30%, then you take 30% of the tongue weight capacity away from the hitch, etc.

Jared,

No problem... There is some lead time associated with these things, so send me a PM when you're ready to talk deposits and stuff...

Thanks,
Mike
