Hella 500ff installed

I added the Hella 500ff's and mounted them to the brushguard, that part was more or less simple. I then went ahead and wired them to new fuse box (since 2 was not enough) I ran a primary wire up to the console, then added in the fuse box, and hard wired my cb to it, and added the Hella's to it. Of course I didn't like the switch it came with so I added another one, drilled some holes for a spare switch and two days later it works! The wiring directions that came with it made no sense, so thanks to all of you that posted wiring diagrams.

What beam pattern do these lights have? Driving?

They're a driving light, and I haven't finished adjusting the beams yet, hence no pictures yet I tried to get a picture of the fuse box, but ended up needing three hands. Once I get the wiring cleaned up in there, pictures will follow. It's a basic bussman 6 fuse box, so nothing fancy, but once I get a shelf in there and mounted, pics will follow. Project for next weekend.

From your experience with them, how would you rate them for improvement on amount of light they generate?

Kinda a tricky question, they are a driving light not necessarily and auxiliary light, like I'll put on the top and I don't think they're HID. They do fill that missing gap for me between the driving lights that point at the road and the high beams that light up the scenery. The important thing for me is that I can use them to see farther ahead without blinding the oncoming driver, of course part of that is beam direction. They are more than bright enough to light up something 100 yds ahead so you can see it in detail. So I suppose it depends what you're planning on doing with them. A friend of mine put HIDs in his headlights, but then had to reposition them entirely so he could drive on highways with them.

Where's the fuse box? Under the arm rest?

Just in front of the shifter, and beneath the area of the front dash. I don't think the piece normally comes out but it'd been taken out previously so I've got use of it. Not much room for more wiring in there though, so the next fuse box will be under the rear seat on the passenger side.
