you might want to verify you have the 4.10 or 3.73 especially if you do a lot of highway travel. I might say this wrong but I think some have seen their tranny's overheat from running too big of a tire on 3.42 gears at higher speeds because the transfer-case won't stay locked up.

I have 3.42 and spend a good bit of time on the interstate so 33's are out of the question for me unless I re-gear

there is a code in the glove box, I would tell you to search but I can't tell you what to search for.
I think somethign like GU3, GU5, GT6 or something like that.
I'll try to find it for you.

So why can't I find it in the manual? Where to look, where to look.

the manual is generic for all of the TB's. Look in your glove box. There should be a sticker on the door, facing up if when you open the door.

Then I don't recommend going over a 32" tire for now.

:Iagree:

In my experience, 32" is about the max you want on 3.42s if you do any amount of highway driving.

So I guess 265/75/16? How much shaving of the wheel wells do you think will need to be done? Just a side note James is there a particular reason I can only see like 25% of pictures on a forum? Or is that just my computer being itself?

It is hard to say how much trimming you will have to do. You can't see some of the pics because they were unable to be transferred when he migrated to this server. It is really just you having these issues of not seeing the pics. ;)

If I get spacers will that give me more or less trimming? I was told that they caused more work to be done on the back of the wells.

Spacers accomplish a different task than the lift. You have to run spacers to run 265/75/16's. The lift gives you the area in the wheel well, the spacers allow you to clear the Upper Ball Joint.

265/75/16's shouldnt require any trimming. 285/75/16's or 255/85/16's will put you right at the point that you will need to worry about trimming.

I had toyed with the idea of my next tire being a 285/70/16, a wide tire that is 31.6, about the same height as the 265/75/16.
The problem with that is I only see 2 brands out there in that size(Nitto and Toyo) and they are over $250 each.

I'm going to stick with the 265/75/16 like you mention as well.
It is also a common size in case you get in a bind.
Also, if you think about going from a 32 to a 33 is only about .5 inch of clearance.
You could take the $450 from the body lift and the extra $100+ tires would cost and buy radiator and oil pan skids which would be more useful anyway.

I could do that, but I've been in a situation where I've been using street tires for all my highway travel. So upgrading tires is definitely on my mind more.

I'm sure you've seen then here on the forum but a lot of us are using the treadwrights. They're cheap and durable.
I found I had to do just a smidge of trimming on the inside of the front bumper with the 32s.
