Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Who has the oldest TB?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

I saw this in another thread, and thought I would bring this back up.

I know there are some early build dates out there, anyone know when production actually started?

I found production beginning in 2001 for 2002 model year http://archives.media.gm.com/division/chevrolet/products/trucks/01chevy/01trailblazer.html and on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_TrailBlazer.

but nothing yet that gives the month they started.

My 02 was made in 06/2001, and I believe that Donny's was 05/2001. I would assume May, I sent GM an email to see if they'd help us out with an answer.

Mine is 5/3/01....but I suspect there are many out there earlier than mine.

I wonder if we can tell from the sequence number in the vin....

85 Hilux - 3RZ, dual cases, caged, 40s, chromo everything

I've owned mine since 12/18 '01. I ordered it the Monday after Thanksgiving and had to call in some favors in time to get it built in time to get the 0% interest. I even drove it right after it was taken off the truck.

I can't believe that I love it more after 10 years than I did back then.

120365 is mine. Quite possible with looking at sale numbers that 20,000 TBs were produced from 3-15 to 5-3

I saw a figure that said 115,000 were sold in 01.

rgraboske, any way to know what production number they started with?

They usually start with 001. Because the Envoy and Trailblazer were built in the same plant, they would be mixed between the two. Remember, they build a bunch for testing that may never get sold. The early road test vehicles were pre-production units.

I can ask around, but the problem is most people just won't care.

Would that be 000001? That would seem like a lot produced before march!

Mine is 343425, and like I say was build in mid-December. If you take into account Trailblazers and Envoys, 203,000 is a believable number. The last really low VIN I saw was a Corvette that was 000013.

I'll do some more checking when I get back to work next week. I know the data is there, but can't get to the right systems from here.
