AlekG seems to be the only one who's used these. Link to os http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=33736. Why is it more of this hasn't been done, besides cost issues? The first time I read this thread on the os I decide this was what I wanted to do. Now I'm not sure if others haven't gone this route. Can we discuss this here?

Hmm it's probably because they provide a softer overall ride, and won't change our performance to much. to be able to get more articulation through longer springs we need swaybar disconnects and longer shocks first. So theres quite a cost in this...

The Z71 springs appeal to people's frugal side. If you don't need the full 4" that these give. Alek doesn't stack spacers with these springs the way (most of) the rest of us do.

Those springs provide about 4" of lift at rear over stock without use of spacers... That is why Alek uses them. They would provide a stiffer ride over stock as well. They are an option if you want 4" of lift without spacers...

Where can we purchase these seperate from the whole syjacker kits? The only places I have found them they want to sell you the whole kit...

Gotta be from an 07 & up... Spring perch was changed in 07, making match the GMT-360 perch...

Hmmmmm, now I'm confused. The references I found show the C25R to be for 2000-2005 Tahoes, not the ones with the new spring perches. I know Alek didn't have to fiddle with the perches, and the springs are already necked down. I guess somebody should go measure some pre-2007 Tahoe perches to see what changed. Anyway, here's a pic of Alek's C25R springs:

When I bought these Skyjacker had an older site up. Currently, if you use their site and drill down to Coil Spring Pairs for Chevy - 2005 (the latest year they support), only the Suburbans (1500 & 2500) have the C25R listed. The Tahoe and Avalanche list only the C40R and C50R. Under GMC though, the Yukon (non 1500 & 2500) has the C25R listed.
The old site also gave the lift heights and you guessed it, the C25R was 2.5 inches (for the vehicle it was designed for), the C40R was 4 inches, and the C50R was 5 inches. I think all of these models (C25R, C40R, C50R) have the same diameter measurements and only differ in height and perhaps spring rate.
I don't know why the C25R is not listed for the Tahoe anymore, I could have sworn it was so back when I was researching. I also contacted their tech support at the time to ask what the outside diameter of the coil was (in the middle) and what the inside diameter was at the perches. All the measurements looked workable at the time.
I ordered them (in Canada) from North Shore Offroad in British Columbia.

i dont really like my avalanche setup, so i may end up switching to these if i can find a set. but i have also been talking nto a custom spring company up here. more research is needed.

they are too stiff, and as roadie has always said, the avalanche shocks suck! keep in mind i have E load rated tires, so my ride is pretty harsh as it is. so some softer rear springs would be really nice. plus i want more lift but i dont want to use spacers to increase the spring rate anymore. i would rather have a slightly longer spring with the spring rate equal to or a little lower then what I have now to compensate for that extra height. i am a big fan of adjustable shocks so i have been looking into the rancho 9000xl 9 way adjustable shocks.

Spring spacers don't change spring rate.

dont they add spring rate by increasing their compression, and thus giving u lift?
