Dash lights and dome lights flicker

One night i noticed that my dash lights and hi beams were flickering. Paid it no mind. I was driving down a dark road so i turned on my KC daylighters, one only lit up. Checked the bulb when i got home, it blew out. The nxt day i turn the lights on again and the other blub blew out.
Now couldn this problem be caused by a loose ground somewhere?

Doubtful. I can't imagine a faulty ground or intermittent ground causing a blown bulb. Normally a HIGH voltage could cause a light to burn out faster, not a lower voltage. Blown bulbs can also occur due to vibrations.

More than likely since they are KC Daylighters, they're just cheap bulbs.

ive been having the problem with my headlights and dome lights flickering also. it started happening after someone jumped my car with the cables reversed :facepalm:

Is it flickering or occasionally dimming? Big difference. Dimming headlights are a known annoyance, but don't cause any harm.

dimming in and out when i gas it usually.

That would be an alternator issue. Most alternators dont have much output at idle, when you hit the gas, the rpms pick up and it goes to full output.

Agreed. Probably a blown diode. You let somebody ELSE hook up jumper cables? Sigh.....

Isnt their a fix for the whole "Dimming Headlight and Dash lights" issue these trucks all have? I seem to recall something about a jumper wire off the BCM....or something.

Some people say the big 3 will fix it. I haven't seen mine flicker since upgrading the battery and adding the secondary.

Come on.....Google please. Big 3 are wires. Alternators contain diodes. They all may need replacing. A meter can guide you to the culprit.

I haven't noticed my headlights dimming since the relay for my air pump stopped. The new battery didn't seem to make a difference for me personally.

That's a good point... I haven't heard my SAI in a long time. I think I used to hear it. I wonder if it's still working.
