Brendan,

Keep driving it and see if the leak stops. If it is over full it should only leak while parked. If it trails fluid underneath the truck it's a bad seal. Give it a week and see.

I hope so man, issue after issue. Which also remind me of my newest problem.

As per scangauge - was driving on the highway, doin about 70 and through stretches ill get it up to as much as 223-225 as certain points, not to many steep mountains here. Thermostat was replaced when everything else was and a coolant flush was done. It will then come back down. I did notice that my OEM tstat was actually a 190, this one is a 210. Not sure why that was the case but alwell. If it wasn't for the scangauge though i would have thought my temp what sitting right at the 'normal 210' on my dash. Fan clutch was replaced when she was dead by the dealership who broke my fan shroud.

Something wrong or is it just my engine under the load of 33x12.5s MT's with 3.42 gears? It does this at highway whether im in D or 3.

Mine leaked through a brand new pinion seal until I went to 140w gear oil. Now it's fine...

I've found when mine pops out of TCC engage, it will tend to spike a bit in temps, but only when ambient temperatures are above 85. I think the transmission fluid is heating up the coolant the extra 10-15 degrees.

I tend to monitor temps when it's hot outside, and if I notice things heading above 220, I'll pop it into D3 and everything cools down, but it takes D3 a little while to affect the temps, it's not instant.

Yea, iv learned the limits and capabilities of my truck so i can control it and knock it back down quick. Usually just give it a little bit more gas for a downshift, let it tach up a little bit and then coast it out. I dont even have AC so its not that the motor is working extra hard. As for the trans, the only thing i can really think of is when im in overdrive and maybe the extra vacuum when giving it more throttle but keeping it in overdrive? Trans temp usually stay around 175-200. Everyone i know who has a GMT360 gets in my truck and cant figure out why my motor is so much louder than theirs, not even talking about intake/exhaust- but thats a separate issue.

Guess ill just suck it up and keep an eye on it. Even thought im aware that the WT gauge on the dash is a dummy gauge, im surprised it didnt even move the slightest when hitting temps in the 220 range

Damn... she rolled over 50k miles this week. I suppose it's time to do some maintenance. Maybe even a yearly bath and wax... :mechanic:

Finally got the CV shafts replaced in the TB now that we had one full good day of weather. Found a nail in one of my tires, so I guess that gives me reason to pull the trigger on some MTs. All came with good timing since my Mustang's supercharger is sounding like the bearings are going out in it. Looks like the TB's going to be my DD for a while until I can figure out the Mustang.

So i somehow found time to crawl under my truck.

1. Seems like my front diff leak slowed alot, good news. Im assuming its done "overflowing"

2. I was looking around the area of my radiator. Noticed thats on each side there is a little black flap (rubber?) that goes on each side of the radiator and mounts to the area of the metal bumper. Anyway, seems that they were somehow bent in front of the radiator, essentially blocking the airflow. Almost a square foot of blockage (approximate eyeball). I adjusted this and so far it seems like my temps have gone down, havnt hit any highway speeds yet so im not really sure. Also been cooler weather so nothing is set in stone yet. Well see what happens.

So, just got into an accident on my way back from the bar (be easy, I told the cops I was drinking and passed all the tests, hadn't drank that much) and was turning onto a side road from the main road in town. Some jack@** in a red, late 90's, camaro pulled out in front of me with no blinker. He slammed his brakes (coming to a complete dead stop) and I braked, and swerved to avoid him, clipping his drivers rear and tearing up my passenger side front. Unfortunately, my brakes weren't good enough to stop me in time and I had to slip between two cars in the opposite turn lane when I veered. The brush guard sort of saved a bit, but also tore into the hood. I pulled into the BP we crashed in front of and old boy tore out of there, peeling tires like a bat out of hell. I went into the gas station to calm my nerves and pick up some smokes. By the time I was at the front of the register, a cop walked in and asked who's SUV it was. In the little amount of time I waited in line, my TB was surrounded by 4 Police Chargers (all four that the town owns) and the local K9 unit. Filled a report, but I might be screwed anyways since I rear ended the other guy. At least he gets a hit-skip. Pictures to follow tomorrow when the sun is up. The anger inside me is at least happy that his Camaro was really messed up. Sucks I had a lift and his car was lowered, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to go anywhere.

I don't think you need to worry about getting in too much trouble, Like you said he ran, You don't run if you didn't do anything wrong. Or he ran to avoid the cops for reasons other than the wreck. But I know a guy that was at fault in a wreck and the other person ran and he was let him off as not at fault, they assumed it had to be the other guys fault cause he ran(they never did find the other car). Best wishes and hope you get you truck fixed soon. :thumleft:

if they didn't write you a ticket right then you are likely ok.
Sounds like the guy in the camaro had a lot more to drink than you did or some other legal issues he didn't want discovered. If you guys are in a small town they can likely find him. How many red late 90s camaros are there in that town that were in a recent accident anyway.

Were your two cars the only ones damaged? If so I expect you are ok since you passed the sobriety test.

Yeah, no ticket. The Officer said that if he showed up, then I would probably get failure to maintain proper distance, but the guy would get the hit skip. I'm just worried about another insurance hike.

Speaking of, I'm thinking about just getting one or Mike's front bumpers and replacing the hood and fender myself with the insurance check. Maybe get that raptor stuff that was mentioned in another thread to paint the rest of the body with the new hood and fender to keep prices down. Anyone know any good sites as far as Trailblazer body parts go? I'm used to looking up parts for my mustang and monte carlo, never really had to bother with body parts for the trailblazer yet.

check into comprehensive.
Here in NC on my minivan it is like 30 bucks a month for liability but only 40 for comprehensive.
Comprehensive covers most things where you aren't at fault (deer, weather, theft, uninsured, windshields).
