Trip report. Yowsa

This was a killer trail. It is right next to where I went last time at 5 mile pass. I am going back there in daylight very soon to get some pics and hopefully some video if I can find someone to go with me.

It was the RME4x4.com club that went. They had a noob initiation trip. I went along since I'm a noob. This is not me but this was taken on the trail during our trip in a section called the snakes. I have some pics on my friends camera but he has not emailed them to me yet. I learned a TON and found out both myself and the TB are even more capable then I ever thought.

I learned some great techniques for mud, and some off camber stuff that helped me out a lot. Good times!

Anyhow here are a couple of pictures he emailed me. Unfortunately all the really sweet stuff he was usually spotting for me instead of taking pictures. The next time we go out there I am taking my dedicated photographer (my wife) along and it will be daylight. There is some seriously cool stuff to get pics of.

This first set of pictures in NO WAY gives you the feeling of this part. It is called the tailings. You have to take a trail across the face of the tailings at about 35 degrees and then you make a 90 degree blind turn into a draw that continues up at about another 100 yds. at probably 45 degrees upward angle. You have to straddle the "canyon" for the first half. It was seriously sweet to do.

Here is also a picture of my truck waiting for the Jeep in front of us to drop down into a valley, it turned 90 degrees and dropped strait down at about 40 degrees for about 200'. It is a north facing hill in the cedar trees so it was slick mud and rock. This is the clean side of the truck too. The drivers side took a beating in a mud hole right before this was taken. No real damage but my pretty paint job on my wheels need to be redone after this trip.
