1. check trans
2. buy and install cb radio
3. spark plugs
4. tire balance and rotation
5. Coolant flush
6. new batt
7. Smaxx end links

good think i am back to work.

I had that issue with my transmission until my entire reverse went out. No slipping or anything otherwise. Ended up forking out for a new trans. HOPEFULLY that's not your issue.

In the past 2 weeks.

Oil change
Rear diff fluid
front diff fluid
transmission fluid and filter
trans axle fluid change
installed lift
changed end links
replaced interior lights

Still to do
CV Boots
wipers
Probably new headlights. They burn out every 3-4 months. They are coming due.
Wire in the spotlights and build the bar.
instal the CB/Ham radios and antenna
Finish the seat covers
build a rear hatch rack
build a rear tire carrier
uggh

My wife is getting upset. :hissyfit:

For those of you who were with me on the Big Bear trip... the strange noise from my front end disappeared after the trip! The truck probably just needed a good beating!

In my quest to improve my fuel economy, my truck got a new air filter, fuel filter and thermostat. She also got the throttle body cleaned and a full Seafoam treatment. I tried to replace the O2 sensor, but the old one doesn't want to budge. I need to try and get some heat on it, but it started snowing on me and I decided it was time to pack up the tools.

On a side note, what PSI are most people running? When the shop installed the tires they aired them at 35PSI according to the door sticker. The side walls of the tire indicate 65 PSI. I aired up to 55 PSI and they look alot better. I think thats part of where my gas mileage issues were coming from.

I'm running at 40 on Load Range E's (rated for 80), but I'm thinking about going higher to 50ish

45psi on my E's, because I carry a load all the time. Seems to help the wear pattern as well.

So after having to cut the stock front shocks apart due to them rusting out (way too much rust for an 04) I realized that one of my Bilsteins was defective. Talked to shock warehouse and they said order another THEN ship the broken one back so I could get the replacement quicker. Turns out Bilstein goes under a global back order for the F4-BE5-A333-H0 just as I order my new one. My TB's been down for two weeks now, waiting on the replacement. I didn't want to wait until the 20th just to have the new shock ship so I called all the local dealers and it turns out they all have to order them from Bilstein and don't keep any in stock. Lucky for me, Summit Racing had a few hidden in their warehouse so instead of waiting another two weeks I should have my TB back by the end of the week. I'm stoked.

Ha ha you get my extra set I just returned to Summit!

No joke I ordered 2 sets of front by accident and I just returned the extra set last week. I got the confirmation e-mail from them Friday for my refund.

Your welcome.

Was getting a whining noise, that sounded as if my TB was a R/C car which was driving me crazy for the last few days.

With a quick search on the OS, figured out that the idler pulleys have been a known issue for this noise. So went to Autozone picked a new idler pulley and swapped it out and now its back to normal purrin' nice and quiet.

I'm due for an oil change, coolant flush, and diff fluid. I just rotated the tires changed the brakes all around. I also replaced my panhard bar with an adjustable. which is awesome as soon as I pulled the old one off the the axled shifted and straightned out. I also put the diff guard on,I have to go to sears tomorrow and get a rachet attachment I just tightned it up with an allen key. I hope there will be no leaking,I just loosed the five bolts slapped the guard on and put the new bolts on with out replacing the seal. :shoot:

Watch the low torque spec on those diff cover bolts. I snapped one. They also use loctite. Did you renew that?

Yes I saw they put loctite. No I didnt re-apply and I probably should have. I have no leaks though, I went a little offroad put into 4 hi and cruised around a little put it back in two watched it all day and this morning and still nothing. That is the last thing I want to do is snap a bolt , I will be as careful as I can.

If it makes you feel better, I've NEVER used loctite on diff cover bolts, ever. Just star-pattern tighten them to the proper torque, they won't leak.

I have CV woes this morning. After replacing the passenger side since my lift it appears my drivers side has let go. I had a rattle on the drivers side this morning driving to work, I could actually feel it in the floorboard at times on bumps and turns. Crawl under the truck in the parking lot and have cv grease splattered all around the inner boot.

Looks like I'll either be getting a boot today to replace and re-pack it tonight, or pulling the axle out of the tripot for a few days while I wait for a new one from Rock Auto- havent decided which way to go yet. More front end work, SUCKS. I'm beginning to smell CV grease in my sleep.
