I'll start at tentative. I really have my heart set on an 8.6" replacement axle and that's going to eat into funds pretty heavily.

I am sorry it has taken so long to post here, I am going to make it with my family(wife one kid) if ok. altho I see afew 4 rated and a 5 trails I will be stock platform what are yout opinions? I don't mind sitting some out if need be.

Updated the confirmed/tentative list, pm me if I goofed anywhere!
We'll do a widespread range of trail and there won't be any pressure to run more difficult trails. We'll coordinate throughout the trip so everyone knows what trails we're planning prior to departing from camp. There is always plenty of hiking, fishing or biking to be done

Alright all is good work wise, and I don't think the local drag races are that Friday so mark me down as a possible.
A couple questions though.
On a trip like this being as many of us will be considerably far from home is there someone on standby with access to a trailer? Or what would be the method of return in the event of not being able to get back up and running?
How much extra cash should one bring or is that more of a whatever you are comfortable with having?

AAA Plus is your friend... or just limp it home. I drove mine 60 miles today as a front wheel drive truck.

AAA won't help that far from home, but any of us on the run could get a trailer in Fresno and say we were going to carry a Civic.
Nobody should break anything but one misplaced stick could take out a gas tank.
A commercial off-road recovery in Borrego can cost $700, to put the potential risk into perspective.

Excellent reading, and definitely something we should all be aware of, especially since there may be possibility of snow while we are up there! Fortunately, we'll be packed for camping anyways, and we don't have ragtop jeeps

Yeah I am fine with body damage I already have some of that not sure if I posted pics. anyways its breakage im worried about as well and usually I bring an amout of money that will cover what I am truly conserned about breaking ie. if an axel is my weak point then have enough to cover that, But among friends who have done this awhile you can fix or get around most anything.

Just drag my busted ass to the road, and I'll have AAA premier take care of the rest (200 mi free towing, more than enough to get to a Uhaul and rent a car trailer).
Otherwise, I always carry all my tools with me, so given the parts and enough time, should be no problem to fix anything.
