How easy is it to roll a trailblazer?

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Just curious on how easy it is to roll a trailblazer. I know my old stock cherokee was pretty easy, but my trailblazer feels nothing like it.

Well they are pretty heavy trucks(TB) I think that would depend on what kind of situation you got yourself into I think you could flip anything if you dont know how to come up or down something and depends on your speed.

I have had mine on some fairly steep shit and have not worried about it. If you drive smart you wont have much to worry about. If you cut the wheel hard while going downhill, I am sure it will roll. It seems that trailvoy has very few mentions of rollovers and with the amount of info and members if it was an issue it would be addressed. The wider tires and trackwidth of a lifted one only helps the stability. However the lift and higher COG does hinder stability.

Drive within yours means and enjoy it.

I've got that digital inclinometer and I always get scared before reaching any kind of left/right limits. In a climb, I've done 45 degrees on sandstone with all 4 tires spinning and stuff falls off the dash in your lap and out the window, and the engine oil pickup goes dry after a few seconds, but that's not the dangerous axis.

has anyone tried putting baffels in the oil pan to help deal with the pump running dry on those extreme inclines?

The TB has plenty-big anti-roll bars, and a really low center of gravity (You can partially thank the "through-the-oil-pan" front diff for being able to lower the engine and trans in the frame)... My wife drives the thing (non-lifted) like a F-in NASCAR, and it even doesn't look scary from the outside when she's doing it (I end up meeting her for dinner/whatever sometimes after work, and follow her home on the bike)...

If I go to all the trouble to take off the oil pan it would be to get rid of the IFS. :excited:

There's really only a few times I'll ever do those hills, and the more normal 30 degree climbs seem to work fine. At least the fuel pickup didn't seem to unport.

Yeah we do have a decently low cog, but I'm trying to keep it that way, thats why I'm not running a roof rack anymore... if the gear that would be up there is inside it helps out a lot... I was going through a mud pit along ways back, and decided it was deep so tried going with two tires dry. So basically the pit was deep right off the back long story short if i didn't have low cog and m/t's i would of been stuck in a bad spot and possibly flipped if i sunk in more. My friend riding shot gun though we were close to going over but i knew we were still in the realm.

The ultimate goal of a bunch of expedition drivers is to not only shun a roof rack, but keep the back of their Defenders packed BELOW the window line with their expensive Zarges cases as well. Eek.

Bah humbug. I say just keep the light and smelly stuff on the roof rack and the heavy stuff like water and the like low in the vehicle to offset the effect on COG.

And I for one know I'm not ever seeing any expensive cases unless they are given to me for free... rear storage drawers FTW.

They don't like to rollover at all. For example I was going towards pahrump and was going 80mph or so and a vehicle cut me off and pushed me into the gravel where I started doing 360* turns and hitting HUGE mounds of dirt and rocks jumping up and down and never once did my TB ever feel like it wanted to flip over.

Ahhhh the joy of having an ext. The one time my truck shines.....sheer cargo volume. With my spare tire carrier, and jerry can holder all built into the hitch, I have no need at all as of yet for a roof rack. Everything I bring fits inside. If I was to put anything up there it would be a RTT.

we're good with not rolling over.

i spun out last november, avoiding what i thought was a homeless guy on a bike out in the middle of nowhere...i really shouldnt say how fast i was going, but it held its ground going completely sideways at 45-60 mph on wet asphalt.

But are you lifted - do you have 150 lbs of equipment on the roof? I think that's a bit of a game changer.

Game changer? Would make a huge difference! That and not having your sway bars connected!

Lifted? not yet.

But there was stuff on the roof,id assume about 75 lbs. of gear.
And still,id trust the roadiemobile fully loaded in a side swerve before id trust a stock explorer(exploder :awesome: )
