So you and Dizzlenator will be in his vehicle? Not bringing the north face?

You up for trying Dictum Ridge? It may be a little more your style... rock sliders only need apply!

I have not conquered Dictum myself... maybe you could be the first trailblazer.

Have you tried it? It looks like a good time, but could easily trash the rear bumper. Picking a good line is key, but i think it is doable.

i will say that seeing that makes me glad to be getting a radiator skid.

I haven't attempted it... wanted to with my local 4x4 group, but have run into schedule conflicts the last times they went there.

It's tricky from what I've heard... off camber and big steps. I'm sure it can be done with sliders, just depends on how much sliding you want to do.

The hard portion of the trail is not very long, from what I've heard, so it could at least be worth looking at.

The problem is that there is no easy return... so once you go down, you'll have to keep going and meet us on the main road... or try to come back up it... which I haven't seen done without a winch.

Trail Leader decal?... hehe... :gimp:

I got the g-80.

Video makes it look fairly flat with just big rocks.. I didnt like some of the wheel placement they used, but it worked and who am I to second guess without being there. I really didnt like how that one rock rolled up and no one seemed to notice, wht would have happened itf it kicked out and rolled away into someone or something. I would have tried to set it down as gently as possible. Even if it doesnt get done it would be something to see. The other issue is, without a winch, what happens if I get hung up trying it solo? I am used to having Jeeps with winches around, have not needed one, but it will come.

I am down for whatever. Any trail is a good trail.

I "know somebody" who has a Hi-Lift and all the winching stuff (attachments, chain, etc)... I'm quite certain James does, too...

I have had my hi-lift for a dozen years and it still works, I got enough straps and stuff to use it as a winch. I was more concerned with how long in the trail and how far will I be away if I get into something or bust something and and need big assistance if no one else is on it.

I amy have a winch by then. I keep playing with the idea, but i want another bumper first, but I do have an idea for a permanent hitch mount that is up out of the way that would allow for a mvoable one to be used fron or rear.

Watched some more on Dictum. Looks to have some challenging parts, but also some bypasses. I agree that sliders are a must. I also saw some fairly tricky spots conquered smoothly by a jeep on 31's with good tire placement.

I really hope to just hang out and hit some trails and discover the area. I would be up for some easier dirt roads to see some of the tougher stuff to hit on a return trip. The more i see, the more it seems to be a good place to make a trip to. i can probably get a fall trip with a few mixed vehicles if this works out as well as I am hoping for.

That's cool. Dictum is generally not that difficult... but there is that one section that is super rough. If you do get into it and get stuck, you should be within winch distance (~100').

Definitely interested, but I'm waiting to see if I sit for a certification exam on the 5th. I should know in another week or so. If I can't make it or miss the cutoff I'll be pretty upset, been looking forward to this panning out all winter!

Put me down as a possible. Being in the military, things can come down last minute. But it looks like a great time. Pretty much exactly what I've been looking to do.
