Aside from having to get a front wheel bearing, I have learned that my battery is on its way out as well. I also need to do an oil change, rotate the tires, change spark plugs, flush the coolant....and thats just the start.


At least I got my trailer wire harness working. Turns out the ground wire in the harness on the truck has some corrosion and crapped out. So I took it out cleaned it up, put some die-electric or whatever you call it (i knew roadie and james would flame me for not using this stuff).

On my way out of the shop we noticed my passenger side headlight burnt out. Could have been today, could have been a wile ago, I havent been driving much at night. Nice thing was, we had a new hella replacement bulb on the shelf for my truck

I just worked on my discos, swapped front bumper back to stock, changed rear bumper brackets, changed oil, redid head unit wiring,washed it, removed old alarm and stereo wiring, and started the modification process on the rear brushguard to fit with body lift.

I am loving this 50 degree weather with sunshine. Finally catching up on stuff. Diffs and TC fluid changes next if it doesnt rain tomorrow.

Damn man everyone has work me too... paint work, then some front end changes this weekend, and gotta try to rewire some of my stuff (wiring on hold). Front end changes are a definate, they will be seen at the little meet we have saturday.

I'm just due for an oil change in about a thousand miles, no problems with anything else, since I just changed the front diff fluid, though I'm gonna do the Tcase and rear Diff just for kicks. Dexcool is fine, all the other vital fluids are clean, and the brakes look like they're going to last a while. FWIW, oil change, coolant flush, tire rotation are all pretty easy to do. Spark plugs not so much, but at least you don't have to change them that often.

Rewiring is something I need to do on mine as well... got too excited when I got new stuff, and now I have random switches zip-tied around the passenger compartment.

I'm due for oil..... and tires and shocks. (damn Army needs to give me the next part of my bonus!!)

What has me scared is that there are no records from the previous owners. So I doubt anything has been done besides oil. Will get down there early next week and start checking fluids. First time my driveway has not been ice in months!!! And we hit 58deg. today!! WOOT spring is here! Time to start working on the truck!

Yep, a coupe weeks ago, I:

Rotated tires
Chanded diff fluid
Changed T-case fluid
Changed trans fluid/filter
Changed oil

It was a fun weekend...

Rotated my tires last week, I also removed the front end links.

I still want to replace my rear links. I'm almost due for oil change, still need to do T-case and front diff, I did the rear about a year ago. Wife's car is also in need of some work...

I have to say, the weather has been awesome, I hope it lasts...

Yup, I hear ya... I got to do all that as well as put new slotted/drilled brake rotors on w/ new pads that I have had sittin in my apt. since Nov. or so.

I've got an intermittent misfire... need to change the plugs. Oh, and rotate the tires.

Otherwise I'm on top of things.

I can't wait till I get my garage!... only another 40 days till my move date.

Side note: How did you guys get the gear oil into the front diff? I had a hard time of it and ended up using a rube goldberg-ian contraption of a funnel and garden hose...

Side note: How did you guys get the gear oil into the front diff? I had a hard time of it and ended up using a rube goldberg-ian contraption of a funnel and garden hose...

There are stores in this part of our country that sell auto stuff. There called Auto parts Stores. They sell small little pumps that attach to the gear oil bottle with a length of hose connected for insertion into the hole. That way you can just pump it in form the bottom or the top.

Sounds like the rubber grommet is seized in place. You may need to use a pair of pliers. One on the dip stick and one (securely) on the pipe. Twist.
