Skid Plate

Well I brought home a piece of 3/16 steel plate from work, going to try and make my own oil pan skid plate hopefully I want be wasting my time and 30 dollars worth of steel. I will post pics of process. I also have most of a hitch mount spare tire carrier welded up riding around in the cargo area it's been a pain in the but to get in and out to work on at work having broke the lift gate handle the other day.

Remember the hole for, and to build up 1/2" for the drain plug to stick through... see my skid plate thread in my section to see what I'm talking about...

Cool, looks like you figured out how to post the pics!
For the drop-down, will you have to unbolt one of your bolts in order to drop it down? You might want to replace one of those with a pin.
They also look a tad small.. is that a 3/8" bolt? I think mine were 3/4" grade 8s.

The bolts are 1/2" that was the biggest drill bit I could find at the time, and they are in it just to mock it up. I plan on using grade 8 bolts to hold everything together and regular hitch pin above the pivot point. I still plan on cutting a piece for a hi lift jack but not having on to go by I need to figure out about how long and the bolt spacing to bolt it down. Thanks for the input it pushes me to try and finish asap.

My hinge is a 1/2" grade 8 bolt, and my pin is a 1/2" pin. Zero issues.
Step bits are your friend.
I own too many vehicles now. Let's leave it at that.
