yes, that was a total and utter exaggeration but it was weird having threads that didn't have anything new, or wasn't improving on an existing fix). By chance, i found JD's trailblazer thread on Expedition Portal, and found ORTB shortly thereafter. Been lurking ever since. 
So now i think i've learned enough that it won't be a total disaster........partial, maybe, but not total.
Have pulled the trigger and am ordering the parts i need to get started. I'm working it in with repairs at the same time, because let's face it, at 320000kms, it's starting to show some wear now (the front bearings are shot and the rear end rides like my old 75 caddy).
Parts are slowly trickling in, because i order here and there and pick them up across the border (and the less ordered at a time, the less interested customs are in giving me the free colon exam and charge me duty for it. insult to injury, i'm sure).
Will start a build thread at some point, but won't have anything ground breaking. Once the repairs and suspension are up to speed, will look into other projects for it. Was interested in that cooling system upgrade that Jon A had done, but still wrapping my brain around it.
Other than that, will try to avoid stupid questions, but one or 2 might slip out (sorry, Roadie, but it happens), the only plus about lurking unregistered was that the possibility of dumb questions was non-existent.
