New control arms?

New members: please introduce yourself here.

I currently have 3 inch suspension lift spacers and now I'm looking to put a 3 inch body lift and also upgrading front coil springs to get about another inch out of the front. When I do this is there anything to worry about upgrading any other parts such as control arms?

you have much reading to do.
3" suspension is our limit before you will encounter CV binding at full droop. If you want more suspension lift in the front, your options are as follows: solid axle swap, design and create a custom IFS long travel system, or just remove the 4WD all together.

Also, don't for get about UBJ angle... if you haven't done so already, flipping your UCAs should be next on your list.

well our Constant Velocity (CV) shafts, AKA front axle, transmit shaft power from the differential to the wheels. The design of the CV is based off a ball/socket/tripod kinda thing. The higher you lift the suspension, the greater the angle of the ball/socket. If the angle is too steep the tripod will jam itself, preventing the rotation required to drive the wheel. Or the bearings on the male half will just break. Based off our collective experiences, 3" suspension lift is our maximum before CV bind is a factor.

It's hard to explain w/o pictures or video. I'm on my work computer now and can't post the pics. If someone else doesn't get to it before me, I'll post up more when I get off work.

Yet amazingly...several have a 3 inch lift as you do and stouter springs for a bit more lift like you want... without issue.

As stated above...if not done, flip/swap the upper control arms up front. You wont have any parts that NEED upgraded, but if you have anything worn there is a good chance of it showing up more forcefully. Check out all your front end suspension, drive, and steering components while you are in there. Don't forget you will need an alignment after upgrading springs.

I am supposing you are going to go up in tire size since you are going to add a body lift as well. You may want to look into extended or adjustable rear control arms if you get in the 35 inch tire territory.

You should read up some on binding with our limited IFS. You also must keep in mind that 3 inch lift is not the magic limit. There are other factors in play. weight of additional components like winch or bumper or skid plates. You also should think about some underbelly protection if you do not have any. MDB skids are worth more wheeling than any lift kit. You can get by with less lift far better than with no protection for the vitals.

Are yours bad?

New ones wont offer any difference in binding.

Since they are supposed to be sealed n full of grease...I imagine you need a new CV shaft already orat least repacked w grease and swaled back up.

I haven't heard of anyone with marks 3in lift with tripod joint binding. Thats really not something you need to worry about when you're not doing anything particularly different or new.

Repack them, hose clamp the boot and you'll likely be fine. If they start ticking, look into replacing them.

Okay so to sum it all up do you think it'll be possible to have 3 inch coil spacers, 88 or 89 springs (whatever gives most amount of lift), and the Marc mc 3inch body?

Possible but without skids or winch or bumper up front you may bind. I had no bind issues w 3 inch spacers and 88s and 3 inch body lift even though the body lift has zero bearing on suspension. I do have a bit of armor n such though.
