Hi everyone.....Lurker here. My name is Matt from Levittown, Pa. My 02 TB with 73k on it is stock for now. It doesnt go off road often , but I am gonna get a beach permit for Island Beach State Park this year and will need to lift it. I had it on the beach for 2 years prior and it did just fine but needs some more height. Knock on wood I never got her stuck, but never put her in a situation where I was unsure how she would do. Back to my lift, I am gonna do the Liftmeister 3 inch but am not going with bigger tires. I want new struts and springs upfront and new shocks and springs in the rear. And I want to get rid of the moans and groans and thumps it makes when I go over speed bumps but thats a whole nother thread. So I need to do more homework. It is dizzying all the options there are to do. I dont want to change the ride, dont want to lose the awesome turning radius. I like the way it handles. It will still be my family truckster, and want I it to be highway capable. Any input from you guys would be greatly appreiciated. I have some ideas from a fellow Levittowner and what he did to his TB, and am probably going to something similar.

Welcome to the site. I have Marks old kit with moog #81110 springs and bilstein struts in the front and z71 springs and bds shocks in the rear. That's pretty much base setup on here and I highly recommend it. The easiest way to describe it is the it now drives and rides like you would think a 4WD SUV should. I'm also on factory sized tires for now and some will say you look like a fat guy riding a unicycle but I don't think it's that bad.

And your first step should be removing those running boards :poke:

Thanks, TELL MY WIFE ABOUT THE RUNNING BOARDS!!!! LOL. I would love to get them off, I had to buy them (from Mario) and put them on so she and the kid can get in. Well the kid can get in but noooo she cant. She is kinda short. Eventually I will do the tires but these are only 2 or 3 years old so I cant justify replacing them yet.

Beware of guys like Mike though haha. You'll end up jacked up on 35's and way over budget.

welcome, I ran the 2" RC lift with 255/70/16s for a couple seasons on the beach.
Just the 2" lift made a big difference in not bottoming out bouncing on ruts at the beach.
If you don't want taller tires, you might try wider tires. I liked the 255s but depending on the fitment you should be able to go to a 265/70/16 as well without wheel spacers.

I'll have to say though that the 265/75/16 with wheel spacers work a lot better. I haven't had that setup on the beach yet but on some muddy trails around the house I can stay in 2wd when I used to have to go to 4wd.
