How's it goin guys and girls...my name is Jeff and I'm new to the Trailblazer world. I came up to the Trailblazer from a Chevy Cobalt and I must say that I LOVE the new truck!! It's an 06 LS with all the bells and whistles. I have a few plans for it...but mostly I'm gonna leave it stock.

:Iagree: If you're not looking to take your truck off road (which I can assume to be the only reason anyone would keep it stock around here), trailvoy.com might be a better home for you.

What I meant by stock is that I'm not gonna do any crazy ass lift on it. I might do a leveling kit and slap some 32's... You know as I'm writing this I'm realizing that I really have no intention of leaving it stock...So the leveling kit with 32's, the Volant CAI, I bought it with the Magnaflow cat-back exhaust...I wonna tint the windows a little darker than they are...then perhaps some HID's and we'll call it a day. DAMN YOU GUYS GOT ME MODIFYING SHIT AND I HAVENT HAD THE CAR A WEEK!!!! :wallbash:

oh and just a quick question...is there even anyone on here that isnt 4WD? lol

they must not post very often...being the fact that they have nothing that can really relate to most of the "off-road" discussions on this forum.

If you need any help with your HID install I've converted mine, and im quite sure a few others have as well.

It ends up not being a direct plug and play you have to make some slight mods to make it work right 100% of the time.

I've been thinking about it today...and I dont think I'm gonna do it. With my experience with HID's is that the bulbs dont last more than a year...moreover the fact that we have day-time running lights will only shorten the lifespan of the bulbs, and the very last thing I wonna do is keep spending more than $100 on HID bulbs when I can go to Autozone and pay $50 for Sylvania Silverstar Ultras

You make a very good point about the DRL system. Fortunately for me I have the option in my TB to switch them off with a simple flick of the light switch.

I know some werent given this option though, kind of glad mine has it.

if you look at trailvoy.com there is a thread about turning off the drl. I think it is drl killer or something like that and also to give you quad beam (all lights) for high beams.

A lot of folks feel that a 2wd with a locker is as good as a 4wd open diff in most situations.
I've never run one so I don't really know.

I expect 2wd + locker + winch is about the same as 4wd open + winch :-)

The good thing about the 4wd is there is always the option to put a locker in there or two!

Smart move. HIDs are not worth the trouble. A retrofit kit will never give off the proper light, and it's frankly offensive to the rest of us driving around. The stock headlights are made for a coil filament, not an arc. If any of you are considering a conversion, read this first: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech ... sions.html The only HIDs anyone should be using are aftermarket HID lights with reflectors designed for an arc.

As for silverstars, they aren't a really good option either. They have short lifespans because their filaments are overdriven. They also have a blue color filter on their lens, which makes their light appear "whiter" but in reality it is lust blocking some light transmission and effectively reducing total light output (which is why their filament is overdriven, to offset the blue filter). If you're really looking for new bulbs, look for the high range clear bulbs like: Narva RangePower+50, GE Night Hawk, Osram Silver Star, Philips VisionPlus, Sylvania Xtravision, or Tungsram Megalight Premium. They are colorless bulbs and produce the maximum legal light output.

Sorry for the rant, just a pet peeve I've developed.

I don't know about "most" but it really depends on the situation. Sometimes 2+locker is better, sometimes 4-locker is better.

I think all of our 2WD members either gave up on their TB, or bought a heep.

My wife kept telling me that that I should get a jeep....and I'm all f*ck that business...I buy chevy or gmc...nothing more and nothing less. Not to mention I'm not partial to a vehicle that has a reputation for tipping. Hey question...what is G80? and how can I tell if i have it or not?
