Hello all! Just joined the site a little bit ago...going to start working on a new project here shortly, as soon as I sell my Mustang. Anyone in NC want to buy a 2004 GT? I've got a 2006 TB LS, all stock with about 70k miles on it. I plan to lift it a little, put some spacer/adapters on it, some 17x8 Cragar Soft 8's with 4.5" backspacing, BFG A/T 265/65/17, and some other doo-dads. Unsure of which route I want to go with a lift, which shocks to get, or even if I want to do 17's or step down to 16's with 265/75's. All I know is as soon as my 'Stang is gone and my debt is paid off, I will start to buy stuff for the Trailblazer, so I want to have a good idea of exactly WHAT I want out of it by then. The TB right now is my wife's, but we have a baby coming VERY soon and I want to get rid of the 'Stang and build the TB to do better off road and still be suitable to drive to Kansas regularly (her home). I will be making another post soon that goes more into detail about my plans to get some feedback and advice from others on here.

A little more about the driver: I am Nik, a 23 year old Sergeant in the Untied States Army. I am really big into photography, epsecially of anything automotive, and feel I can bring something to the table when the next TECORE event. I am also generally into anything outdoors, especially camping, off roading, and shooting. I am married, for a little over a year now, to my wonderful wife Baillie, and we are expecting our first son on October 12th. We have two dogs, her Chihuahua Mike and my Puggle Harley, who both go with us on any type of road trip and love being outside as well. My wheeling experience is fairly good, I used to go with my dad every chance I could talk him into it before I could drive in our 93 S10 Blazer, and learned to drive in it. I later went on to sink that in a lake, so I am fully aware that our vehicles DO NOT float and are not water tight. I also had an 87 Subaru BRAT that I beat the piss out of off road, and fixed everything I broke myself. Later I got a 93 Geo Tracker which I built up pretty good (lift/tires/off road bumper/herculined-interior and -rockers). I do all the work on all my vehicles myself, if at all possible, and feel I have a fairly good mechanical knowledge base. Here are some pics...feel free to make fun of my big head.

The Trailblazer a few days after we got it...we are at the old New River Bridge in West Virginia, on our way to Kansas from Virginia.

Me and my wife Baillie at our wedding ceremony this March...she was 11 weeks pregnant here. This was our celebration of our wedding, as we had already been married for 9 months.

Thanks guys. Anyone know when the next TECORE is going to be? If all goes well (selling my car, and having enough after paying off bills to do what I want to the TB) I want to attend for sure. I hope there isn't a ban on women, wifey loves to camp as well LOL

HAHA thanks guys...I've actually had the TB for almost a year now, put damn near 20k on it already too. Just haven't had the money/inclination to do anything to it (or my 'Stang for that matter) with me and wifey getting into our own place and getting settled in. Moving in together and furnishing a house is EXPENSIVE...

The next one is in Oct... check out the trips section for details on the planning. After that, I'm sure I'll hold one again in the spring of 2011, maybe a little different locale (I keep saying that, but it never happens). (Fall 2011 may be out though, depending on how everything plans out.)

I hear ya man. Just went through that myself. It is expensive, but once the home is the way you want it, it's so nice!

James D - Would definitely want to make it to the one in October, but the little guy will barely be here so definitely going to have to pass. Just gives me more time to get ready for the next one, right? Speaking of the next one, another good location would be the Uwharrie National Forest, it is in between my in Fayetteville and Charlottes, NC. They have an ORV park there, and my old club for Suzukis went there annually, at least. Never got a chance to go myself, but heard great things about it. Good, fairly central location on the Eastern Seaboard as well.

Phil - Already got a lot of useful information...what is it about me that I always end up getting vehicles that are a "path less traveled" for modding (the TB, Geo, BRAT)...makes it more fun I guess.
