Tires are something to base on a combination of personal preference and reviews.

I personally would never buy Kumho tires just based on past experience, I however am a huge fan of Hankook based on previous tires I've owned and decided to go with their Dynapro AT on my TB and have been happy with them

But based on reviews though, I'm curious about the Duratrac's and Fierce Attitude M/T and will probably end up trying them in the future.

If you like the Kumho's, try them. Only way to find out

I agree 100% I bought a brand new 05 ram 2500 diesel and then a 2010 c300 benz and sold my benz when I went back to school bc I had my tb... truth is ive got a lot more with my factory tb than my 45k truck an 40k car. Words work better than flash especially when you can back em up hahaha. So my first box came (massive speeds stuff) so I was looking at the build threads they want a start pic to start the story... is writing a novel along with that pic ok... Like what brought me to wanting to do all this and thus how I got to offroadtb

Its your build thread, do what you want with it. Make it the story of your TB.

But when you have questions, don't put them in your build thread cause only you can post there (unless someone notices something that could cause a safety issue, then a post may pop up from a member or admin)

Apparently you've not read our build thread. Second post is our story of how we got to where we are. :flex dirty:

make sure to read the build thread guidelines.
The title and first post have pretty tight guidelines with layout and one current pic.
the rest of the thread is whatever you make it.

There's a fair explanation of what started this whole mess I'm involved in if you read my thread. It's a common approach.

Write it up as you see fit.

Ok so I havent posted pics on my thread in a bit but shes coming along... I ordered bilstiens struts off of shockwarehouse.com amd anfter 3 weeks with no struts I called and they said they were back ordered and it would be atleast another 3... it would be nice to know these things when you place an order with a company. So I ended up going with Ranchos bc my work deals with napa and gets a good discount. I paid for 3 day shipping and was reminded why I order stuff myself. Guess the guy my service writer talked to when he ordered my parts was dyslexic bc me and the service writer had the right part numbers still on our note pads and the shocks that showed up were 2 numbers reversed from the struts I ordered, but needless to say I have them now. I did my body lift last weekend. I went to my work at 8 pm telling myself I was only going to do my control arm bushings... for some reason I said I really didnt feel like aligning my tb 2 weekends in a row. So at 3am I had my body lifted. I scrached my head on the ft bumper cutting for a good hour and a half. I wish I would have taken pics after I made my cut lines to help anyone else in the future who may have the same difficulties completely understanding the directions. It also took me a little linger bc my rad support on my L side was a little bent do to my winter accident that started me on this project... nothing a little heat and a hammer couldnt fix. I decided to go with general grabber tires and should have them for this weekends building activities. My only question which I am asking her bc I didnt get a good firm reply on the diff forum is- does anyone know the part number for a powertrax lock right for an 8.6? They list an 8.5 30 spline... part # 1921 but say na for the 8.6. My understanding is the basic difference between the 8.5 and 8.6 is the carrier bearing... also 99 was the last year for an 8.5 from what I read on a gm site. If this is correct the powertrax is listed for an 8.5 up to model year 2001 which would be an 8.6. So due to it being a lunch box locker and fitting in side my open carrier as long as I am getting an 8.5 30 spline it should be the right application correct? As I said again I know this probably is the right place for this question but I really didnt get a response on the diff forum. Also I was stuck between the fierce attitude and the grabber but my decision was simple once I found the attitude is on national back order. Which make me second guess the grabber... if its that popular maybe it would be worth the wait. Lol my trailblazer already looks dumb with the stock wheels (one steel bc I bent a rim in my accident) and tires... I wouldnt be able to drive too long with the way my suspension and body lift would make it look. Oh and hopefully I get someone to cover my on call shift at work for a few hrs this weekend so I can take a trip to jersey and come home with some sliders and maybe an oil skid... I have some 3/16th steel sitting around so im hesitant at buying the skid bc out of everything I need it is probably the easiest to fab myself but who knows it jist depends on how the rest of my weekend's trailblazer activities go and if I run into any other unexpected expenditures. Lol I started this project with a budget of 3k im already there and haven't bought a locker, my ft ring and pinion, or my tires. Lol sometimes im a little compulsive. Just means ill have to count somemore cards sometime soon. Hey atleast I have something to look at and remind me where my money went hahahaha. I just can't wait until my semester is over bc being a full time student picking up extra hrs at work and working on this project is taking a toll on me. Oh well I can sleep when I die. So back to the purpose of this post.. any help on the powertrax lock-right locker is appreciated. I checked out about 10 users rides and didnt see any real info on a part number for the 8.6 thanks Ed

I think you are right, the 1921 seems to be the right part.

92-07863005 is the part number for the no-slip which is what many of the guys here are switching to for the better highway manners.

You should call the vendor and have them verify, also make sure to ask about their return policy and make sure the items are in stock. I got the no-slip from Rocky Road only to find out my new axle wasn't an open carrier. When I asked Rocky Road about a return they were going to charge me a pretty stout restocking fee.

I did not realize Rancho made struts for our platform. Can you share the part number for future purchasers?

I had a PM to Donny a while back when I got my 8.6 asking about his locker and this is what he sent me.
fishsticks wrote:Try these guys:

You need the one for GM 8-5/8 30 spline.

92-0786-3005 is the P/N.

It is all in Donny's build thread as well.
the OP is looking at the LockRight which while reported as noisier on the hwy is about $150 cheaper.

The powertrax LS says that the 2007 & newer requires change to 2000.5-2006 model case and it is sold separately. What does this mean? Since I cant get a for sure answer on the lock right i guess im going to go with the Limited slip.

Lock right for the 8.5/8.6 30 spline would be the best bet, limited slip is more so for on road though it may still offer SOME help off road

Yea Dustin but im not getting a firm answer that the 1921-LR which is the 8.5 30 spline will work. I know the spartan for the 8.5 30 spline says right on the website will not work in 8.6... the problem now is I have an 08 8.6 which even the ls says that part about needing a different model case im sitting here wanting to order but not having any thing to order

I actually picked up my bilstein hds from summi since they had them in stock. I was gonna go the shockwarehouse route and they said they were on back order til May. I also talked to someone there who said the ranchos are the same as Monroe struts basically. They have it in their fine print, they also say the only work for over the strut suspension lifts which have proven no good for hard wheeling. Just a little heads up. Good luck with the build.
