Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

I guess I'm a "other 360" type of guy in ct

I have a 04 Buick rainier 4.2 awd. Got it for my wife as a grocery getter and family car. Then I found out that while not the ideal offroading platform in a 360 it can get a lift and bigger tires. So I'm here to find out how to do it safely and such. Also, I need some ammo about ride quality and fuel economy once lifted so I can sell it to the wife.

I'm also looking for a brush guard and rear bumper guard/bar. Anyone know if a tb/voy front guard will fit?

I've also been on the OTHER tb site and was disappointed with the knowledge base when it comes to offroad stuff. I guess that's why this site exists huh?

Welcome to the site. As for the fuel economy I have a 4.2 Trailblazer with MarkMC's 3" Lift, 265/70R17 Tires with a A/T tread, and PCMforLess tune and I average 17 MPG with a good mix of city and highway. The key, as you will probably read in this forum and others, is being light on the gas when accelerating. I try not to ever go over 2500 RPM's when I start unless I really want to get up and go. I have Bilstein shocks and I love how it rides and handles. Others may have other inputs on other shock types. Sorry can't help with the brush guard. Welcome again!

With handling, I have ended up close to a foot of not wider than stock with my set up and it is super stable. I like the ride for the most part better.

With IFS, ride quality generally improves when lifting. Just don't get too lifted, or you'll top out all the time.

Yes, back before GMTN we all basically banded together in order to expand away from Trailvoy. Onward and upward.

We just require that you at least pretend to take your truck off-road from time to time.

I live up by Plainfield.

I hope to have a lift on before winter.

And I drive this thing through every big puddle and mushy grass parking lot like a bat outta hell every chance I get

we frown upon those who rent 360's and jump speed bumps :-)
