Don't wait till the last minute... you don't want to be testing something for the first time on the drive down to VA...

It's mostly maintenance and little BS. Gotta build a hi lift mount, gotta hack off the trash can and weld on the pipe that's been sitting in the garage for the last 3 months... change the oil and air filter that's been in the truck for a week, little shit like that. Probably start working on stuff in the morning after work.

edit: would like to put the air compressor in the truck too and I've got some lights that need to be put on... it never ends

Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.

Same here, sounds like a tomorrow job.

I only have 2-3 days off between now and tecore. So I need to get to work on the truck.

I've got two days off before TECORE too. I think I can get it done. most of my work days before are gonna be 12 or 16 hours though, so there's not a lot of other time to do it. I find doing things under time constraints very motivating. lol

The only suggestion I have is to prioritize, so that if you miss something, it's not an important item.

I've got Saturday planned to gear up. Would like to rotate the tires but I'm otherwise pretty up to date on maintenance for now.

Also, we're getting into the weather prediction zone. So far it's looking decent for that weekend. Highs of 60 and lows of 35 might be expected... good camping weather. However, it's still too early to have too much confidence on that, but the initial predictions are looking good.

Im spending Saturday making final preparations to the truck.
Going to switch out the power steering pump and fix my door handle that broke last night.
Got a shock bolt I want to tighten.
Might rotate the tires. The front ones are starting to feather a little so I get a little vibration at 80-85mph.
Check the fluids and air pressures.
And then get all my camping stuff in one spot so I can easily back the truck Thursday night after work.
Can't wait!

Hmm, rock sliders, fender repair, roof rack, interior storage build, and a quick rewire of the CB all need to be done. Got to love having a job where I can easily take time off to help make sure this stuff gets done. Starting to wonder when Mike and I will have a weekend not dedicated to the TB. :) Still love it though.

I have found, since getting the TB and finding this site, there is no such thing as a weekend that's not dedicated to the TB. In some small way, or another. I wouldn't have it any other way, though. :-D

I don't like to do any major maintenance before a trip, I like to do it several days(or more) before if possible. If you are going to have a problem, blow a seal on an oil filter etc it is better to have it happen when you are close to home than on a trip.

It's become a full-time hobby. An expensive one, sure, but the most enjoyable one I've ever had. It's even better that Mike and I get to share in it together.
