Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Taking care of business on the TB

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

So today I finally got down to changing some fluids, front and rear differentials, oil and transfer case on my 2008 TB. My driveway is at a incline and I normally turn around and drive up the ramps down the driveway, so then the vehicle is level. However with the TB I just push my steel rams as the front wheels touch the edge, I guess the TB is to heavy for the friction to keep the ramps in place. So I had try something else. This what I came up with.
Image worked for this oil change. ;) looking for a better idea. Yea, yea I know with lift you don't need to do this. Lol

So on to the front differential, man the fill plug is one PITA. Was trying and trying did not seem to be moving it at all. Hmm. Here's why.
Image cheap 3/8" extension was twisting it. LOL!
Also while I was under the TB I noticed that it looks like my front differential is leaking, seems to be between differential and oil pan maybe. Will have to keep a eye on it.

No sign of metal in the oil other than normal wear.

Transfer case next, I watched a few YouTube videos on the subject before hand seemed pretty easy 10mm socket and you are good. Well it seems my 08 uses a hex plug, this turned out to be 10mm also, good thing I happen to have one. ;) did txt v7guy asking if he knew. Thanks Jason for the quick reply.

Since the TB was still up the ramps some fluid came out the fill plug, damn looks like normal gear oil or could be that BP stuff. Never trust the other guy. Errr!

Just for fun I pulled the rear differential cover off to have a peek.
Image damn no G80, RPO code was right :(

I know this is pretty simple and old hat for most here but I mainly posted this for the 10 mm hex bolt on the transfer case and that it would be helpful to some one.

I have the same problem with steel ramps like that too. I just push them across the blacktop. In 4WD i can walk right up them no problem.

Bummer. But it looks like your solution did work just fine.

Good to see things documented, the more resources we have available to the new guys the better.

I've heard that front diff plug can be difficult. An impactor makes short work of it though.

How can you tell visually it doesn't have the G80? Anyone have a shot of what the G80 looks like?

Global marketing strategies are crucial for any business looking to expand its reach and increase brand recognition worldwide. By tapping into diverse markets, companies can not only increase their customer base but also adapt their offerings to local preferences. I highly recommend exploring resources on global marketing to understand how to position your products or services internationally.
