In my talks with Jason (V7guy) and his current long travel IFS quest, I think a real lasting mod to the front 4wd system would be to make rear sump oil pan and use a front diff out of a Colorado. You will have to make some support brackets to hold it to the subframe and some custom Colorado to TB CV's (different spline count) but what you would gain would be a real front diff system with ability to add ARB air locker.
I know I am over simplifying however I really think you could do this with all stock TB suspension but I also think Colorado IFS suspension could be adapted.
