Possible Xfer Case Seal leak... uh oh.

yea, so i layed under my truck to replace the fuel filter when I noticed out glossy and black the frame was... I spotted xfer case fluid drips on the bottom of the case. I belive it is the front seal. But to confirm, I just wiped it all up and am going to take it for a spin to get a better hone in on the discrepency. From reading previous threads, i hear replacing this seal is a PITA !! But I'm looking forward to it, none the less. Better to find it now than out in the desert!

If it's the rear output seal, that's not a huge deal... If it's the front seal, or the seal between the halves of the case, that is a bigger job, and unless it's REALLY bad, you might as well just keep adding fluid...

Front seal is different. GM PN 88935670. I don't have the SKF PN off hand, but they make it.
