Chugging when driving

Something not working right?

Yes key was on run but engine was not running. Unhooked the CPAS connector, and took the milimeter and stuck it into the CPAS. It came up as 8.4ohms that was the only number that stayed stedy for a few seconds.

Here is a video at idle after running around town for a while anywhere from 10-20minutes.

I notice that when the enigne is warm it misses during a launch from a stop if I get on it. If I use light pressure it dosn't miss.
I scanned it(torque free) and nothing has come up. I was suggested an engine flush.... Just wondering if it might be an injector thats bad

What setting was your multimeter set to? Were you measuring the electrical leads on the wire plug? or the electrical leads on the CPAS itself (the thing stuck in the side of the engine).

Resistance values shouldn't be jumping all over the place if you have a solid connection. It should be pretty steady (maybe jump 0.1 or so). If it only stayed for a couple seconds then I don't trust your measurement.

When my CPAS first started going bad I didn't have a code or a check engine light, it wasn't until it really got out of spec that it threw a code. I replaced the CPAS with a non AcDelco brand and it didn't fix the problem, replaced cam and crank sensors still nothing. Took it to a mechanic he suggested replacing the engine, I ended up buy my own scanner and found my code it stated timing over advanced among other codes I replaced my CPAS with a AcDelco on and that solved my issue no codes to date with 500 miles on the TB since. Maybe this info will help you out IDK

^Thanks Tango!! I when to the Stealership and they said try and engine flush and see if that will help. He said that gunk gets built up in the phaser and the flush might help remove some of that gunk.

As a little update. I put a muffler/resenator on yesterday seeing that I had to fix the straight pipe. I didn't disconnect the negative terminal like(From what I understand)your suppose to so the PCM can relearn the new exhaust flow. I unpluged both PCM fuses instead of disconnect the negative terminal. I put almost 100miles on it lastnight and no miss or anythang.... I check the ignition and plugs with a sparkplug checker and they were ok...

Yeah when I was dealing with my issue I did a flush and treatment and the whole nine but it didn't fix my problem. If it's something other then your CPAS that stuff may work for you. The only reason it took me so long to get my issue solved is because I assumed the CPAS I purchased was good when infact it was bad. It wasn't until JD posted up some trouble shooting guides that I found the new CPAS to be bad, and my new scanner confirmed it.
