LH Side View Mirror replacement

Something not working right?

by SaltWaterDrinker » Tue Jul 31, 2012 12:35 pm

During a run last night I destroyed my Driver's Side side view mirror. I am attempting to buy one online, but I am coming across a snag.
My hook up has two bolts and some sort of hook in the center(seen below) and all of the ones online have three bolts. At risk of sounding stupid, will the three bolt version work on mine?

Thanks in advance..

Here is the link of the one I am looking into:

...now that I am looking at this, I'm close to thinking that it broke off inside...I just cannot find the third bolt...

All the mirrors are 3 bolts... at least I'm pretty sure they are. Look on the inside of the door... you should see the 3 holes... Did the door get damaged where the mirror attaches? That metal is kind of thin there.

I don't believe so, Mario...I mean, when I took the entire assembly off to get the window to shut I didn't see it damaged - the only metal that is wrecked is what came off the mirror (that silver triangle)

The 3 bolts are held on by a triangle of ribbing. Your front bolt is likely still attached to the door. Post a picture of the door if you want some help locating the remnants.

Upon further inspection the leading edge of the triangle is still attached to the door - I overlooked it like no other. It'll just be a matter of getting the thing out of there.

Apologies all around for posting something blatantly obvious - my brain hasn't been in the best state over the past 12 hours.
