Body lift

Hey thr all ...Im thinkn about putting a body lift on the tb...If any1 has any suggestions or probs they hav had please let me kno....Still tryn to figr out how to get my pics on.

depending on what you want there are a couple of options. there is a 2.5" suspension lift that is made by one of the members here, very good price and very good quality parts. there is also a 2" body lift from zone offroad that you can get, that ones a little more pricey. it all depends on how much lift you want to get out of it and what exactly you plan on doing with ur TB.

Suggestion #1: Read everything first.

Suggestion #2: Search for things you may have missed.

Suggestion #3: Formulate a theory based on what you would like to do with your vehicle, where you plan to drive it, how you would like it to work. Then type up a quality, easy to read post with any questions you may have left asking for opinions on what you would like to do.

You can also piece together a 3" body lift. It takes some time to get everything but IMO for what I do 2.5" won't cut it so I have to go 3". I have to say it really is a bummer we don't have an option to buy a 3" body lift anymore. that being said it cool making your own it did take lots of cussing and beer but it is what it is. If we had a vendor that sold a 3" body lift I would replace mine with there's for sure as I am not a great craftsman so it is not pretty but funtional so that's all that really matters I guess.

That would be awesome, I know I would be all over it. He has been working on it for some time I believe but having been a vendor myself I know what a process it can be so I will keep my ear to the ground on this.

Not sure if you're joking or not, but given your post count, I'll assume not. A little hazing is normal and indeed expected here. It helps to explain what we expect of our members in a joking manner and also helps weed out anybody who is too sensitive to take a little constructive criticism. I believe a mere few posts admonishing a newbie for "txt spk" does not a forum of bullies make, so I see no reason for an outcry about this.

Hey man I'm glad to see another person transforming there tb!! I'm sorravon it the guys that have problems with people asking questions. Body lifts are nice to run larger tires and to have that extra clearnce. I suggest if you are just looking for your ride to look nice go with the body lift. If your lookin for upgrades to off road ur best bet is to start with a suspension lift and work ur way twords the body lift. That's my 2cents if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask I'm willing to help I was in ur shoes once good luck.

Yup. Joking around. I was talking about the BL being almost ready. Everytime someone says that, I get a little tickle. Just been sitting by quietly waiting. I sent Voltage an email hoping to preorder one so I could plan on my bumper order around the same time. Just got my Markmc lift yesterday awaiting springs and shocks.

I don't say much usually. I just read others' questions and answers and learn from them. Later I'll join in all the hoopla with the big boys.

for a nice ride I think I would go with Mark's lift.
it is cheaper and less work.
you'll find this when you do some searching but just to note when you max out your suspension as much as Mark's lift does, you might want to put some big hose clamps around the CV boots to help hold them in place.
In some cases they because of the increased angle they come off and sling grease everywhere.

Some folks have even blamed the lift instead of themselves for not doing enough research.
As mentioned do a good bit of research, post your ideas and then get feedback. You'll have less headaches that way.

Ahaha I got trolled! Good going Ben! Caught me after a 12 hour day and a few drinks. Still debating the body lift myself, if only to make it easier to do maintenance.

With my suspension lift about to be on Im starting to question myself, if I should do the body lift as planned. Yeah Ill gain more lift "look" but ill only gain like what, 1 1/2" of functional clearance going from a 32 to a 35 after cutting? Just unsure if the cost justifies the functional results.

If I have a bumper made with just suspension lift it will gap adding Body lift later. Im talking to Mike about having a winch bumper made, but would mean having to wait to put that on until after body lift so brackets can be made correctly. Decisions decisions. What your inputs on them...especially from the guys who already are running body lifts?
