Z71 or C25r

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Just wondering which is going to stiffer? The z71 coils with 2" spacers or the skyjacker coils? The difference would only be roughly 1/2" with the sj being taller. Right?

Well with me trying both, the Z71 on a SWB TB and the CR25 on the EXT. I did not really feel any difference. I want to say that the Z71 springs might of been stiffer cause I could load more weight into it and not sag like the CR25 do, but that might also be cause I have the EXT so there's more weight in the back end.

I also have an EXT and there will be plenty of weight back there so I guess that's my answer. Z71's it is. Thanks.

I have no problems with the Z71's but from the few members that have the Skyjackers, they net you more lift and are a bit more comfortable ride. I'd like to try those out for sure.

Unless he has a lot of variable weight in the rear end.

Yes. There will be lots of weighting the back and I do not want negative rake. I was leaning toward the skyjacker nitro shocks also but 4 wheel parts offers a couple different ones. There's ones for 0-3" of lift and for 3-6". Which should I get? There's a 4wp pretty close to home so I can just go pick them up.

4wp is showing the 8030's which is what I read elsewhere so I guess that's what I'll be getting. Also I read that I'll need 4, 3/8" spacers. Are these going to be long enough for 3.5" of lift?

Yes it will be. It is about 1/2" longer than the BDS shocks. You can use washers for the spacers. They are needed to fill the gaps on the lower shock mount. I haven't heard any feed back from anyone else that have decided to run them yet.

found a great deal on eBay. $50 plus $25 shipping for a pair of z71 take offs from upgraded law enforcement vehicles, never used except in transport. there's another pair on there, but a little more expensive but still worth it IMO. $33 plus $50 shipping for that pair.

the hard part is you can find tons of Tahoe springs on ebay and some are really reasonable but it is hard to know if they are the Z71 springs or not and most of the sellers won't let you message them or won't respond.

If you search just by the part number the results are more limited.

Most of the ones I have seen are where they are lifting border patrol vehicles so I would expect they are z71 but you don't really know unless they have the right part number.

There are several sellers that have these for ~$55 shipped. You just have to know what to look for. They don't all list p/n's, but a picture is worth 1000 words.

what from the picture distinguishes it from the others? Is it the blue tape or whatever that is on them? Almost all the pictures look the same to me.

I have now purchased and passed on 2 sets. I simply got "Tahoe take-offs". They weren't listed specifically as Z71, but each set netted ~1.3" of lift. I'll upload some links for the sellers I used, and they are going for $60-65 shipped/bo.

thanks Bob, that is kind of what I was thinking and we all now you are the guru of buying and selling lift parts. And lifting and unlifting and lowering and lifting and unlifting and lowering and......

sorry, man I couldn't resist.

Check the history on this one for GM Part #25978750. All 3 sold were sold for $13.74. Shipping varies based on destination zip code. To my house, it was $31.30, so my total was $45.04. They were 'on sale' at 45% off the current list price of $24.99 on Monday. Obviously, the price was dropped in late June, too, so you may be able to get these at that price in the near future, as well.

I ordered them at 5:30pm CT Monday. Within a half hour, I had a tracking number and they were at a USPS sort facility in Bell Gardens, CA, the next morning.
