Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Will these wheels fit O.K.? Total newb here...

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

Looking at these wheels for my 06 TB LS 4x4. Theyre 16x8 with 5" backspacing. They're 6x5.5 bolt pattern, as I plan on running the 1.5" spacer/adapters. My main question is, will they fit good? I am thinking that might be too much backspacing with the spacers, but i prefer a wider stance if possible...anyone else running something similar? Will the 16's clear the brakes ok? I have the stock 17's on now.

Before you ask, I am unsure about tire size right now. Looking at around the 30x10 range, don't want to go too much bigger than stock tire diameter right away, unless I can get the speedo re-calibrated fairly easy (any input on this?).

Should be pretty good.

With 1.5" adapters your outer rim will be 3.5" further out than stock.

(1.5" from the adapter + 1" due to back spacing (stock is 6") + 1" due to width (stock is 7") = 3.5")

Cool, that is about what I thought. Any info on speedo re-calibration? Easiest way to do this?

OT...Love your page man...lots of good info. Now, if I could just get my hands on that bumper and rear tire carrier...

I'm not sure if anyone has found the true calibration for the speedo. A PCM reprogram fixes some people's but didn't help others.

The only sure fire way that I've found is using a scangauge, which displays an adjusted speed based on a ratio you input.

Several people have had great luck with the pcmforless.com tune. It recalibrates the speedo. Mine is 1-2 mph off of gps, but my wife's 06 g6 is that far off the gps and my moms 06 Jetta is actually 4 off the gps. There is a margin of error in factory speedo's so under 2 is about as good as any aftermarket will get you. With a scanguage you have to resetas the tires where down or it will be off as well.

I would rather have my tune than about any other performance mod. Night and day difference. I hate driving an un-tuned TB. The hesitation is scary in traffic.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

Got my tune ordered so long ago, just sent them an email to make sure they still have it in their system somewhere. Fingers crossed... :hijack:
