Warn makes all that stuff, and I carry a set of their #26405 jumper cables. Look in my build thread. Basically, if you put a short set of cables on your battery, terminating in a Powerpole connector, your winch can have a short set to mate up to it, or you can plug in the Warn jumper cable set. The jumper cables are also useful as a stick welder, by adding another Optima in series.

So would you recommend a quick disconnect switch of some kind?
Does that cable setup you posted go by a standard name I can search for under google to see if there are other kits out there?

I finally replaced the old kinky steel cable with some nice amsteel-blue!
It's so much easier to work with... doesn't kink up... and it saved me 20 lbs. So now the entire winch and mount weighs 70 lbs, vs the 90 it used to be.
Went for the safety-hook and crush-proof thimble. The new hook is SO much better than my old one... this one fits over a D-ring without a fuss!
Also had to upgrade the fairlead to an aluminum hawse. Got mine from Rubicon Express.
Kinda looks like a chia-winch... eh?

Yeah, that's exactly the reason I went with a receiver mount - UV protection for the winch rope, and overall less weathering of the winch as a whole.
I had it on the other day because of the weather... looks like it'll be going back on again tonight!

I agree...
Yeah, woke up to 2.5" of snow this morning, and supposed to get ~4-8" by the time it's over, tomorrow...
