I might have a lead on an axle to pick up this week. Fingers crossed.

I have had the same problem here. I bet I've called 30 junk/parts yards and very few actually know what they are tying to sell you, just "what the computer shows". I guess there is no "test" to see how much you actually know before you start taking calls at a junk/parts yard.

I made the yard leave the axle in the truck til I got there to verify it was a 06 EXT.
Ended up getting my 8.6 for $75 but drove almost to Canada to get it.
Just be glad you have a wider year range to look through, Mike.

Chango, you've got the same problem I had. Has to be a 06+ 8.6...
That leaves us only 1 year of EXT's and the few years of V8 SWB's. Otherwise its a 9.5 out of an SS which are common, but aren't cheap in our area

What I've found with the TB VIN is that the 7th digit is a 3 for short wheel base or a 6 for EXT

MikeKey here's one in Tallahassee 4.5 hours from Clearwater http://row52.com/Vehicle/Index/1GNES16S026135033 send a massage to one or both of the parts pullers and see if they could help up out and check if the rears still in it

Not sure what your looking for, but they have an SS rear end with 70k on it for $330. That is where I got mine.

So tonight on the way to a Cub Scout den meeting my TB started & ran a little rough and I thought to myself sounds like it is misfiring. As I was driving the CEL came on & flashed. Once I got to the meeting I whipped out my ELM27 scanner. Sure enough p0304. Thanks this site and GMTNATION I knew to try and swap with nearby coil pack. So after I got back home I pulled the TB in the garage and got to work. I think I may have dodged a bullet. Upon inspection the wire to the pack seemed a little loose, also there was some water droplets on the end of the pack more then I would think should be if any. The electronic service tech in me smelled the end for the coil, yup burnt electronics. But I swapped the pack anyway and cleared the code and went for about a 10-12 min drive no codes and ran fine the whole time. With my luck it will come back at some point might as well pick one up as spare. Looking on rockauto I see six different models for my 08, any real difference between the others and the ACdelco D1935E?
