Cleaned up some CB wiring and am waiting for UPS to deliver my package containing my SWR meter as well as some other stuff. Also my Offroadtb.com decals arrived, thanks James.

Ups finally delivered my package 3 hours late. Tuned the antenna and am happy with the performance, now I need to open her up and adjust a few of the pots to get more out put wattage. Yesterday when I got home from work I was picking up a guy in the oil fields in ND, nice and clear.

Doing some research, seems there was a rubber boom recently, through '09 and '10. Prices really skyrocketed then, and I think tire companies have yet to bring their prices down. My bet is that since tire prices reached a new norm during that time, the companies have been enjoying some extra profit, and are a bit reluctant to reduce that margin, especially on the larger tires that aren't as "price driven" as the passenger tire market.

You also have to take into account that the cost of tires from the manufacturer went up considerable when oil spiked but the resalers didn't up their prices nearly as fast. It took a long time to make up the difference from manufacturer to sales. I know this first hand, as I worked for a large tire company during that period of time. The manufacturers raised their prices and the retailers ate the cost for quite awhile.

The sales on the top 3 national manufacturers have actually been low over the last 3 quarters according to investor records. Good-year also has additional stock right now and a lot of debt. Cooper btw was recently purchased by an Indian company that may actually help to lower prices as this is their entry point into the US market and are said to be be bringing some new brands in 2014.

It's not so much as they are making more money off you as, the dollar has depreciated in value, which has resulted in the increase costs of manufacturing. Kind of like how closely tied the dollar is to the price of oil. The cost of gas at the pump has way more to do with the devaluation of the dollar than any other lame blame game peddled by the media and government.

I installed WeatherTech molded floor mats. I also fixed my right rear door handle. For some reason the rod for the inside handle came out of the clip on the latch side.

I installed my decals. Also started painting the roof bar, turns out even with it being 70 out side it did not work very well. So i cut a new section and will just run with it until spring rolls around. Tried it with heaters, and sanded and cleaned it but the paint just did not want to dry, or stick very well for that matter.

Its funny how blind some people really are, have an extremely liberal cousin who posted something complaining about oil subsidies in the US. I asked if had no issue getting rid of all oil subsidies and he said in a heart beat. After I explained that also included funding for the strategic oil supply, as well as for poor families in colder areas. I linked an article for him and he never responded back. It is sad the way politics have become, this us vs them thing needs to stop before any real progress can be done.

That happened to my driver door on several occasions. Especially with replacement door handles. Sometimes the little clip is so tight i can't take the rod out of it without breaking the clip, and other times there is no retention. (My truck has gone through a few door handle assemblies, lol)

If you put a drop of epoxy on the rod, it will bond it to the clip and pretty much stop that in the future. Just be careful how much you use so it doesn't seep through and bond the clip to the handle.

Cleaned it out. 60 degree weather is crazy but helped for the task.

Finally got around to welding on a exhaust pipe that I picked up at autozone awhile back in place of the deleted resonator. Man I hate working in a unheated garage. LOL! Image

Finally installed my light bar on the roof. It is freaking bright. Will get pics tomorrow, but I have an issue the outside 2 lights went out and I could smell the awesome smell of burning copper. Assume I have something going on with the bar itself or the relay was shot.

No they were just 2 inch pipe, the straight piece was flared on one side which I had to cut off to fit inside of the pipe from the motor.

I ordered the 78" Trailgear Sliders. I really like how Regulators follow the body lines. I plan to do something much like that.

I plan too, yes. I suppose I could change my mind when I start cutting and welding, but that is my intention. I wasn't sure about his in pictures, but I really like it in person.
