I know!!! I was reading a bunch that Fab techs wear pre maturely.. Rare parts are the way to go I read in the diesel world.. They're nice and expensive though.

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on those Poly's or the Fab Tech here soon.

Those polys are a good bit of money. If I need em I'd pull the trigger but I got other mods that are higher up in priority. Just do a little bit more research on those fab techs if you haven't already I saw a bunch of threads on silverado forums that the fab techs wear pre maturely.

I like the rare parts TREs. But I'm going Moog based on need and value. $167 a set on Ebay and then use jam nuts on the threads....

I meant the Rare Parts, but got them backwards when I was typing it up.

There are some completely unnecessary mods I want to do, so I'm just buying things up. Like, I want to powder coat my next set of CV's. I like the idea of overly heavy duty TRE's I won't have to worry about. That should last us just like the OEM's did in stock mode.

The rare parts tres are what a lot of guys were leaning too so I think on out trucks they should be fine as long as you aren't going to any tractor pulls anytime soon.

Good to know, might be one of my next mods. I also assume they have more adjustment range than the OEM ones?

Yes, a matter of fact, I'll post a picture later today.

Originally I saved all 3 of the TRE's in ebay and then forgot to recheck this thread about the Fabtechs. I had Fabtech on the brain from AlekG's post about the dirt logic shocks. Anyhow, I ended up ordering them.

But going back and looking at these compared to the Rareparts, I'd be slightly concerned that the Rareparts TRE's don't adjust enough for our vehicle since they are for the Silverado. I'm not sure if the distance from the inner on the rack and pinion to the outter is longer on the Silverado, but it is an assumption.

For me the outters slid right in place. No need to use a taper like Fishsticks had to in the beginning of this thread. I have a stock inner/outter and the threads on the Fabtech inner match. So hopefully when I get back to round two of trying this I can get the whole damn things on and report.

Based on your build thread on GMT you might just want to save yourself the money and get the regular 2500HD tie rod ends.

Some things have changed since I started that build thread. Might just spring for the Fabtechs, I want to be once and done. Pricing everything out it may only cost an extra $100 as I have found the Fabtechs for around $250.

I have not had a problem with my moog inners or outters if you don't want to sorting for the fabtech

AJ (hotness) has replaced his too. He was talking about needing another during the summer but it seems his problem turned out to be something else.

Mine leaks, but I just keep throwing fluid in it since it is not the DD anymore.
