Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

What did you do to your GMT today?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Crawling around under my truck, pre-tecore maintenance, and found another reason to never go to the shop that rebuilt my tranny. 2 bolts missing fron the pan and the rest I can unscrew by hand. Off to the store for fluid/filter/Bolts!

Geez...

My pre-tecore maintenance done today included putting a gallon of rain-x winter windshield washer fluid in the reservoir. I had summer mix in there and it's already getting cold out here at night. The reservoir on my truck is huge, it wasn't even low and it took a whole gallon.

Installed a new to me 4x4 switch the other day.

And I fixed/replaced a messed up battery terminal bolt.

Also pressure washed the engine bay and chassis a bit.

Ordering some upper ball joints. Been awhile and they seem to be popping.

Remember that radiator cap mishap on TECORE 7? It finally kicked me in the butt. The cap is bad and the hose is (clearly) a joke.
Will be replacing both today after the beast cools down.

Changed my spark plugs and my oil, waiting on my green filter to come in and that will be changed along with my fuel filter.

Looks like something is pulling a suction on the system. Probably a result of a bad radiator cap.

fixed a front body mount that spun when I was loosening it. Went to change shock bushings and discovered I broke another shock internally. Removed the upper a arm, dropped the spindle down, then the shock rod came out and shock oil sprayed James02 in the face 6ft away. This is the fourth shock I've destroyed in the last year and a half.

Are you seeing a brake in the same place each time?

You are rough on those shocks. Time for you to get some limiting straps.

That's exactly what it was - remember TECORE 7?

Only slightly, I remember you messing with your radiator cap, but don't remember why.

no, two have been bent in the threaded area at the upper mount, two have broken internally, one of them broke the threads, this one snapped at the shoulder on the threaded internal section.

Yeah you may be right.
