Body lift, suspension lift Tire Size

I have been reading post after post and searching for answers. I have MarkMC's 2 1/2" suspension and 3" Body Lift. I have the factory air bags with the spacers under them. Everything works great. I am running a 30.5" tire at the moment. I want to go to a 32" tire. A 305/50R20 Hankook DynaPro Atm to be exact. Has anyone ran these tires and do you like them or had any issues with them. This size is roughly a 32x12.4. One post said he did not have to do any trimming with this size but I can not relocate that post or member. I am going to run spacers with my wheels. The wheel are 20x9 with a 6.18 back spacing. Any ideas how much tire will stick out and what kind of trimming I might be expecting.

But really, 20s with 32" tires won't do to good once you leave the pavement. Sorry if I come across a little harsh but we're not mall-crawlers around here.

Wow dude you did come off a tad harsh there. Some people have a different agenda and not everyone on here HAS to have 35" tires

I'm one of the ones that doesn't need 35" tires, I have 33s. With that much lift he can fit 35s, so that's why I suggested it, Just trying to save him some heartache when he leaves the pavement.

It's not an issue of 35" tires, it's the 20" wheel. It's too big to be airing down a 32, or a 33, and even with a 35 it's big. Generally speaking if your rolling around on 20s you're not going to be doing offroading with much success and it's generally for the mall crawler crowd. Ain't nothing wrong with it, it's just not what this site caters to.




to the OP- you may want to look at my build thread before you go with 32s, I've got a 3" body lift with the 3" suspension lift and 32s, it looks kinda goofy

I agree with Jason. Even 32s will look goofy with the kind of lift you have. Take a look at my build, and then take a look at ErikSS's build. We're both running 35s, and based on tire width alone you can see how they fill out the wheel wells differently.

For just appearances sake, I wouldn't go smaller than true 33s with that much lift. Even then, the tire tread will make all the difference in how it looks.

There are lift discussions going on at our sister site gmtnation.com for folks who go to the mall instead of the mountains. Appearance is a valid goal, but as it's been noted, not the focus of THIS specific site, which is functional offroading. 20" rims and wide tires are way too fragile for offroading much of anywhere but the beach, where you might need flotation.

If we didn't have gmtnation.com out there, to support the platform I suppose we could have a sub-forum for what I call Lifts Meant For Appearance Only (LMFAO). But we have an alternative (where I'm a moderator), so that's why many of us try to defend the stated mission of THIS site.

In this specific case, the Hankook DynaPro Atm *is* a decent AT tread suitable for mild offroading, but the drawbacks of 305 width and 20" diameter mean I'm sure nobody here has ever evaluated such a size. Too many compromises to going 12" wide unless you're also in the 33-35" outer diameter club.

Mine has 10s or 12s in it all the time plus usually extra 6x9s.

Speakers don't hurt off road ability....

There are defiantly speakers in this rig. Full Pioneer system with 12's. Nothing factory left. I have 20's with a 265/50R20 at the moment and have been debating keeping the 20" rim or going back to my factory 18" wheel. I do not do any serious rock crawling. I will be shipping my truck back to Hawaii in the next few months. So a few trails to the beach, some beach/sand driving and maybe some mud here and there. I don't want to cut the fenders if I don't have to. Getting it dialed in before the move. bring on the rath for the stereo system.

Psht. Everyone needs a good sound system in their rig, regardless of off-road-ability (why did that word look cooler in my head?). Anyways, we've always talked about upgrading ours, but the Bose system serves its purpose while we focus funds on other mods.

Build what you want. 20s with some wide tires prolly fit your needs bout right. 33x12.5 be pretty sweet.

I took all of the Bose system out. It did not cut it for me. How about a 265/70R18. I don't want to go so big that I burn up my drive train. I do a lot of on road driving also and do want my truck to last.
