GENTLEMEN!!

I'm DJ, Soldier Stationed in Fort Drum, NY originally from Miami, FL. so with that said, its obvious im not used to any of this trail/off-roading life style.

i got an 05 TB EXT LT, and im in the process of just putting new suspension, 2" lift/leveling kit, and going with 265/70R17... THAT'S IT!
hopefully you guys can help give me some good, cost efficient mod ideas for my "EVA"

Take care everyone and God Bless!

welcome, there are other ext's here. make sure you get an inside the strut lift and not an outside mount it will tear your front end up. you will also need spacers or a different backspacing to fit your tires. read up and you will learn everything you need to know.

Oh snap, NY guys are starting to show up from all over! Welcome, and thank you for your service!

I have a summer cottage on Chaumont Bay in the town of Three Mile Bay up your way. I don't know how familiar you are with the Watertown area, but its 10 mins from Cape Vincent, NY/ Canadian Ferry crossing point and 30 mins west from Salmon Run Mall. I'm not up there all the time, but next time I am I'd be willing to met up and you can check out my setup if you'd like.

Thanks, Cody. That actually sounds like a good idea. and its my pleasure to serve!

I've been up here for 6years now, and ive been driving around mostly the border or the Adirondack. not too familiar with the Western side. when i was single i would party a lot in Sacketts Harbor. but thats about it. but whenever you come up, and you have your TB with, let me know i'd love to see whats up. and see different options of what i can do to my "EVA".

Thank you, God Bless.

While you can do this with a 2" lift/leveling kit, with that size tire, your going to need to do some trimming up front to make them work. Had to with Marks 2.5" lift is why I say your probably in the same situation. Also, no mention of running a wheel adapter/spacer, you may run into ball joint issues if you run the stock location for your wheel.

ok, thank you. I'll start looking at some adapters/spacers then. and I've seen a lot of TB's having their front bumper cover off and painting the "frame" bumper, i might do the same thing. since i like the idea. would i still have to cut the rear side of the fender?

I think with 265s you would only rub fender lining in most cases. Most of the hard core guys remove the fender liner completely. I run more on the mild side and do a lot of mud and beach sand and find the liner is much easier to wash than getting mud/salt/sand caked in all the little corners and crevices.

There is a support post(you can see the bolt) that helps hold the inner fender liner in place, I was able to whack mine a few times with a hammer and didn't have to do any trimming.

Is the post on front side, rear or both. Since I live in the salt belt, I really would like to keep the slat off the inter fender and keep the liner some what intact. For the most part, see most that remove fender cover cut the front side of the liner.
